πŸ’₯ Psalm 84:11

For the LORD God (the Word) is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will HE withhold from them that walk uprightly.

God watches over us daily.  HE lights our path by having the Holy Spirit bring a scripture to our mind.  We know that scripture shows us exactly what to do in the issue at hand that day.  So we know the will of God as we are making a decision pertaining to this present life.  If God is with us and we are going in HIS instruction of the Word, we have HIS approval.

We are able to purchase that thing in faith that way, when we have God's approval by HIS Word which HE brings to our mind by the Holy Spirit of God.

This is completely different from hunting a scripture to approve us in that which we want to do.  For that could be our own desire leading us though it seems like a scripture leading us.

But when it is the Holy Spirit reminding us of a scripture, we are safe because we aren't doing this by our own efforts or by our own will.  We are simply following that which God shows us by HIS Spirit.

When I attended a "faith type church" in the early 1980's, they taught us to hunt a scripture if we wanted something and to stand on that scripture to get that which we wanted..  At that time Robert Tilton, our pastor, said:  "If you want a red pick-up, find a picture of a red pickup, cut it out and stick it to your refrigerator daily and in time you will figure out how you can get a red pickup."  He also taught us to find a scripture to approve our getting that item.

But is it the will of God for us to buy this thing which we want?

When the Holy Spirit reminds you of a scripture pertaining to buying the item, then you can have faith that is is the will of God and not just your own idea.

Our faith is not built on our own desire.  Our faith is built when God shows us we are approved by HIM to do this thing.  There is a subtle difference but a real difference for if it is the will of God we will have God upholding us in that which we do or are planning to do.

1 Corinthians 2:10  But God hath revealed (HIS will) unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Example:  The Holy Spirit could bring to your mind something to show you not to buy that item.  If God reminded me of a scripture such as, "Be content with such things as you have." it would certainly seem to me that God was stopping me from purchasing that item.

We know the will of God by that brought to our mind by the Holy Spirit of God who searches the heart of God to show us the will of God in the matter at hand.
