πŸ’₯ There is one God and HE is the God who created this heaven and this earth.

Deuteronomy 13:4  Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear HIM, and keep HIS commandments, and obey HIS voice, and ye shall serve HIM, and cleave unto HIM.

Jesus, born of the Spirit of God by the virgin Mary, came to this earth in the form of a man.

In the beginning Jesus was with God as "The Word", even before the earth was created.

John 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by HIM; and without HIM was not any thing made that was made.

4 In HIM was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10 HE (Jesus) was in the world, and the world was made by HIM, and the world knew HIM not.

11 He came unto HIS own, and HIS own received HIM not.

12 But as many as received HIM, to them gave HE power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on HIS name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld HIS glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

In the Old Testament, God chose Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the children of Israel to be HIS Own.

Hebrews 8

6 But now hath HE (Jesus) obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also HE is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, HE saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put MY laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to ME a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know ME, from the least to the greatest.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

13 In that HE saith, A new covenant, HE hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

In the New Covenant, Jesus (the Word) came to earth born through a virgin, being the son of God.  HIS blood was shed for us paying for our sins.  In the Old Covenant, people sacrificed bulls and goats and this was a temporarily appeasement for sins through their blood.

Hebrews 9

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by HIS own blood HE entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

25 Nor yet that HE should offer Himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

26 For then must HE often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath HE appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for HIM shall HE appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

So by faith in "The Word", Jesus, we are children of God in the New Covenant church, HIS Blood shed for us.

We still benefit by reading the Old Testament but we live by the Word of the New Testament Bible.  The Old Testament has many promises of God which apply to us today.  For Example:  The Lord is my shepherd.  I shall not want.  Which shows us "The Word", "The Lord", is our guide, placing us where we shall not want.  We believe in that Word that comes down from heaven to us by the Holy Spirit of Jesus.  We follow That Word.

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
