30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
The Bible is the information we need to be able to serve God according to HIS will.
When we know the Bible, and when we conform our lives to the scriptures, we know what is good in the sight of God and that is all that is important to us.
One day, the Holy Spirit called this to my mind: "In the air."
I knew this was in a scripture. I looked it up and found it in the following.
I Thessalonians 4
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them (go before them) which are asleep (dead).
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
A day or two after the Holy Spirit called the words "in the air" to my attention, a man came to my house and rang the doorbell. He identified himself as being from a Christian church group. He had literature to leave with me. In that literature they professed that Jesus would return to this earth and establish HIS kingdom on this present earth. But the Holy Spirit had just shown me the scripture saying Jesus would raise the dead and take them with him "in the air". So I knew the doctrine of this church group was not according to the Bible.
The apostle Paul tells us the following:
2 Timothy 3
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; (We learn from God by HIS Spirit through the Holy Bible)
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Also the apostle Peter tells us this present heaven and earth will be destroyed by God at the end of this world.
2 Peter 3
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

God showed the apostle John the new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteous which God created for us where we will live for all eternity.
Revelation 21
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
