Building a sure house

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When a church group, or an individual, builds on anything other than the Word of God, it is just a matter of time before we see that portion of their house fall.

This is what happened in the Catholic church concerning child abuse among their ministers.

The Catholic church set up much of their church by rules which seemed good in their own minds but were contrary to the examples we have been given in the New Testament.

In the New Testament, we have the examples of the apostles.

Peter married and had children.  Paul did not marry.

The Bible shows us Jesus ministering to Peter's mother-in-law.

Matthew 8:14-15   And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, HE saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.  And HE touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

***

These examples in the Bible show us to allow the minister of God freedom of choice in this matter of whether or not to marry.

That is the way the church must be set up concerning marriage of ministers.  Otherwise you set up something which is doomed to fall.

Matthew 7:25-27   Jesus explained

Whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

And every one that heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

If we build on anything other than The Word of God, at some point in time, in that area of life, we will see great destruction.

And in order to build on The Word of God, we must have the Spirit of God in us.  For the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and by HIM we know God's truth for the Holy Spirit shows us God's truth.

Jesus said:

John 14:26    But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13   Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

***

The Holy Spirit is given to each person who belongs to God.

Ephesians 1:12-14    That we should be to the praise of HIS glory, who first trusted in Christ.

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of HIS glory.

Therefore Jesus said:  Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.  John 3:3

When we are born again, we are given the Spirit of God so we can see things of the kingdom of God.

I Corinthians 2:12-14    Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Many churches today are set up in rules by men who are not born again.  These men set up the church by what seems right in their own minds.  And some very strange things get set up in church groups as a result of this.

It is the Bible that shows us what to do and what not to do in the New Testament church group.

Even when man looks at the Bible, he can woefully set up rules which seem to be scripture but are not spiritually discerned.

For example:

The Lord's supper has nothing at all to do with eating crackers and drinking grape juice.

The Lord's supper is partaking of the Word of God in a proper way, eating and drinking The Word of God.

John 6 ... Jesus says:

33    For the bread of God is HE (The Word) which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

35  I (The Word) am the bread of life: he that cometh to ME (The Word) shall never hunger; and he that believeth on ME (The Word) shall never thirst.

40   And this is the will of HIM that sent ME, that every one which seeth the Son (The Word), and believeth on Him (on The Word), may have everlasting life: and I (The Word) will raise him up at the last day.

48   I (The Word) am that bread of life.

50   This (The Word) is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
51  I (The Word) am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread (The Word), he shall live for ever: and the bread that I (The Word) will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

53-56    Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man (The Word), and drink His blood (The blood of the New Testament), ye have no life in you.

Whoso eateth My (The Word's) flesh, and drinketh My (The Word's) blood, hath eternal life; and I (The Word) will raise him up at the last day.

For My flesh (The Word) is meat indeed, and My blood (The Word) is drink indeed.

He that eateth My flesh (The Word), and drinketh My blood (The Word), dwelleth in Me (In the Word), and I (The Word) in him.

57-58   As the living Father hath sent ME, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth ME (The Word), even he shall live by ME (The Word).

This (The Word) is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread (The Word) shall live for ever.

Concerning the gathering of the church, the apostle Paul told us what we are to do and how to gather as the church.

I Corinthians 14:26    How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

I have never seen a church group anywhere do this.  They set up their group like you would set up a performance, with everything planned in advance by men.  This leaves very little room for the Holy Spirit to be free to speak in the group.  Some Sunday school classes are a little more free like Paul said we were to be in the gathering of the church.

***

Basically many churches today have removed portions of scripture to set up other doctrines which approve men and please men.

This is the apostasy that had to happen in the churches before Jesus could return.

Paul tells us about this.

II Thessalonians 2:3-4    Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Churches will fall away from scripture and set up other doctrines in their groups.

***

As individuals today, we have to work to hold fast to scripture that we not be swept away by the church groups.

What we are seeing today in the church group is the end-time apostasy that signals the return of Jesus who will gather the church members who have not fallen away from scripture.
