Flesh vs. Spirit

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

John 6:63    Jesus says:  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

When we belong to God, we are given the Spirit of God to teach us and to guide us and to show us the way to go as we live on this present earth.  John 14:26 & John 16:13

By the flesh of man we do many things which seem good in the sight of humans, but the works done by our own thinking end up profiting nothing.

It is when God brings us a word by HIS Spirit that we have life in the matter at hand and know what to do.

A woman found there was a foundation problem with her house and it was going to take several thousand dollars to fix the problem.  She heard immediately a word from the Spirit saying, "You don't have to fix this now."

That was wisdom from God showing her what to do in a situation of this life.

The flesh does many works which man thinks to be good.  And some people look for good works to do.

Jesus shows us the futility of such.

Matthew 7:21-23     Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Unless the work is authored by God, the work will be a work of iniquity.

We must calmly settle what we do with God before we do the work.   We settle it with God through prayer and by waiting until we are persuaded by God.  Then we will be like a tree planted by rivers of water and not tossed to and fro by wisdom of man and by all sorts of contrary thoughts.

Until God brings me a word through His Spirit, I don't know what to do.

Proverbs 14:12    There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Until we hear from God, it is best to be still and pray and wait.
