Asking God: "Is this really what YOU want me to do?"

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I am diligently working daily through the Old Testament to put OT chapters on this blog in the daily writings.  I work several hours every day doing this.  I love doing this.  But in my mind the following question arose:  "Is this really what God wants me to do?"  So I began praying, asking God is this really a work HE wants me to do.

That may seem strange, but I've seen many go out to do what they consider to be a work of God and I seriously doubted it was a work of God and these people ended up sacrificing themselves and their families.  That is fine and good if it is what God has ordained.  But if it is your own idea it will only bring hardship upon you for nothing.

Jesus even explains that many will be turned away as they speak to HIM of their good works ...

Mt. 7 ... 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

So I began praying, asking God if what I am doing in putting these OT chapters on the blog is really what HE wants me to do.

Immediately I was reminded of a dream given to me many months ago, before I began putting these OT chapters on the blog daily.

In that dream, a really big work was beginning and I was chosen to do part of that work.  I knew I was well equipped and I was so happy to get to do this.  The work was downtown, in a red brick building lined with other buildings.  It was an old building. It was on a side street.  There was a lot of traffic at the end of the block.  I knew we needed to hang colorful banners down the street to catch attention of the passers by and to get them to turn in and see what was happening, viewing the work.  The offices were in a good location at the back of the retail business.  From time to time people would come and look into the office door.

I believe the "really big work" was putting these OT chapters on the blog and exhorting the church on the chapters.  The banners in the dream were the advertising we purchase from Google which helps people to find us on Internet.

As I was praying about this work and whether it was what God wanted me to do, I was getting ready to read the daily blog and we were at Psalm 105.  I began reading and saw the following:

Psalm 105 ...  1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon His name:
make known His deeds among the people.

I began laughing.

The title of the OT work is:  Viewing the work of God through scripture

The object of the project is to allow people to see the work of God as they read OT chapters daily ... thus:  to make known HIS deeds among the people.

This work usually causes each of us to read more Bible than we would normally read.  It should cause us to focus more of the work of God and the power of God which is so strongly shown in the OT examples. And by making the reading of this blog a regular thing, you have a way to read through both the NT and the OT during the months.  That regular daily food should help greatly in restructuring us into the image of Christ as we go through the daily happening of this present world.

Daily we present a NT chapter.  Daily we present an OT chapter.  And when we have something else from God, we print a separate message telling what God did or said to us.

The series titles daily presented are:

- NT chapters:  Reading through the Bible
- OT chapters:  Viewing the works of God through scripture

Psalm 105 ...  1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon His name:
make known His deeds among the people.
