God's judgments are true and righteous

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Revelation 16, the 7 angels poured vials upon the earth and judgment of God happened.  In one case, terrible sores came upon those people who had the mark of the beast.  The seas turned to a substance like a dead man's blood and every soul in the sea died.  The rivers of waters turned to blood.  Another vial caused the power of the sun to scorch men on the earth.  Then a vial was poured out and great darkness came on the earth.  Then the river Euphrates dried up.  Then the seventh angel poured out his vial and there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings and a great earthquake worse than any previous earthquake, and every island and mountain were gone away and not found, and there was a great hail.

At one point during these judgments, another "out of the altar" said:

Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are THY judgments.  Revelation 16

This is a critical point.  When we see God do something, we'd better adopt this position:  "True and righteous are THY judgments."

I have heard people judge God by disagreeing with judgments of God in the Bible.  This is a very foolish and dangerous thing to do.  You may not understand why a judgment fell on the person but you'd better just reason that the judgment was right even when you don't understand.

Here are a few examples:

Numbers 15 ... And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. 33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. 34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. 35 And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death:all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. 36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses.

II Samuel 6 ... 1 Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. 2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the Lord of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.

3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah:and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.

4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God:and Ahio went before the ark. 5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.

6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. 7 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God. 8 And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzzah:and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day. 9 And David was afraid of the Lord that day, and said, How shall the ark of the Lord come to me?

(Later David appointed Levites to handle the ark and only Levites were permitted to do this.  David saw how dangerous to touch things when God has not authorized you to do so.  God appointed the Levites in the OT to deal with these religious matters.  In the NT, Jesus appointed apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for the work of the ministry.  Eph. 4)

I Chronicles 21 ... 1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

2 And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it.

3 And Joab answered, The Lord make his people an hundred times so many more as they be:but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? why then doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?

4 Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. Wherefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.

5 And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword:and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword. 6 But Levi and Benjamin counted he not among them:for the king's word was abominable to Joab.

7 And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel. 8 And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing:but now, I beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

9 And the Lord spake unto Gad, David's seer, saying, 10 Go and tell David, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three things:choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee. 11 So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Choose thee 12 Either three years 'famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the Lord, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.

13 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait:let me fall now into the hand of the Lord; for very great are his mercies:but let me not fall into the hand of man.

14 So the Lord sent pestilence upon Israel:and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.

15 And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it:and as he was destroying, the Lord beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

16 And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the Lord stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

17 And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, O Lord my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on thy people, that they should be plagued.

18 Then the angel of the Lord commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the Lord in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. 19 And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spake in the name of the Lord.

In handling scripture, beware of judging.

While writing a certain section where a judgment had fallen I was "tempted" to say that judgment came because of such & such ... I backed off.  I would not want to misjudge a servant of God and bring upon myself penalty.  It is another matter if God tells me the reason the judgment fell upon someone.  Then it would be safe to repeat what God said.  But if it is my own thinking, it could be dangerous to me or wrong.
