God creates; man corrupts

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Hezekiah was a king who did right in the sight of God.

II Kings 18:4 ... He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it:

Moses made the brasen serpent by the direction of God.  And when the people who had been bitten by snakes because of their sins looked upon the brasen serpent they lived.

Then later man corrupted the good created by God.  So Hezekiah destroyed the brasen serpent to keep it from being worshipped.

I thought of many things corrupted by man when man sees with natural eyes.

The Lord's supper is set up in church groups as an eating of crackers and a drinking of grape juice.  And at various churches people think they partake of the Lord's supper when they do this.  This is an example of man acting by natural eyes.

But the Lord's supper is not crackers and grape juice.  Crackers and grape juice have no power.

The partaking of the Lord's supper is the eating and drinking of the word of God.  And when we incorrectly handle the word of God we bring penalty upon ourselves.  This is what Paul is speaking of in I Cor. 11.

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.  25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.  27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

How do you examine yourself?  I used to wonder this when they passed crackers and grape juice at church.  How do I examine myself before partaking of crackers and grape juice as the Lord's supper?

What this all means is you examine yourself by the Word of God ... and so you eat the Word of God examining yourself by the Word of God as you read the Word of God and as you hear the Word of God and so you correct yourself by the Word of God as you examine yourself by the Word of God.  This is partaking of the Lord's supper.  It is partaking of the Word of God.

But if you partake of the Word of God incorrectly, failing to use the Word properly in your life, then you bring destruction upon yourself.

29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.  30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

And we judge ourselves by the Word of God as we partake making necessary changes to our lives by that Word.

So we see how man today corrupts this in church groups because man sees by natural eyes rather than by spiritual discernment.

And many other perversions take place in churches today.  God sets up proper things but man ends up corrupting and worshipping incorrectly just as they worhipped the brasen serpent incorrectly by burning incense to it.
