πŸ’₯ The effect the study of the Proverbs on our Podcast blog has had on me so far.

Comments by Joan Boney:

Scriptures have the power to change us and cause us to go another way in this life.  As I have personally worked through the Proverbs, I have been affected for the better.

πŸ’₯   Proverbs 1:4  To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

Proverbs 1:22  How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

Proverbs 3:34  Surely HE scorneth the scorners: but HE giveth grace unto the lowly.

I looked up the meaning of "scorner" in the dictionary and found this:

(scorner:  a person who expresses contempt or disdain for someone or something; open dislike and disrespect or mockery often mixed with indignation;)

It is often very helpful to look up key words of a scripture in a dictionary.

After studying the words "scorner" and "scorn", I stopped watching the TV show "All in the Family."  I removed this from my TV recordings.

The TV character, Archie Bunker, is a primary example of a scorner.

There is no way I want to "delight" in scorners.  There is no way I want to be around scorners.  After I saw the definition of scorn, I took action to remove myself from scorners.

Psalm 1:1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

March 2023:  A major bank failed in California.  Instant fear came upon me.

Immediately the Holy Spirit reminded me of the following scripture:

Proverbs 3:25-26  Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.  For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

I did pray, asking God if there was anything I should do about the money I have in a bank.  I haven't heard to do anything.

The Holy Spirit reminds us of scripture to help us in times like this or the Holy Spirit might give us a word of instruction.  The Holy Spirit is the comforter and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth.

John 14:26  (Jesus says)  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

πŸ’₯  Proverbs 4:14-15  Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil.
Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

There is a Catholic woman in our neighborhood who is most likely a lesbian.  I sent the following scriptures to her at one point in time.

Romans 1:22-28  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

When I started to send another warning, I was reminded by the Holy Spirit of this scripture:

Proverb 4:14-15  Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil.
Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

So I did not send the second warning.

Titus 3:10-11  A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

(heretick:  one who propagates his private opinions in opposition to Bible doctrine; one who clings to his own thinking even when it is opposite to scriptures; a dissenter, turned away from scripture.)

πŸ’₯ At the end of March, 2023, the "OSCARS" were presented on television.  I knew I did not want to hear the sound because of the evil the people often say when they try to be clever, so I turned the presentation on with no sound.

The next day, I was unusually tired and "sluggish".  I think I felt drained and I attributed the problem to watching the Oscars.

I did not find anything profitable to me that I know of.

So I decided not to watch this program in the future.

Amos 5:15  Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate:

Psalm 119:105  THY word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 119:130  The entrance of THY words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
