Reaction to story of trip with "boyfriend"

I have a hairdresser who trims my hair monthly.  I've gone to her for about 10 years.

At my last appointment, she told me, with excitement, that since last seeing me she went on a trip to Ruidoso, New Mexico.

I almost asked her what she did there ... but then I felt a "stop" ... so I did not ask her about this trip.

She then revealed she went on this trip with "her boyfriend."

I did not say another word to her.

The next day, I was sorting through this matter with God.

How can I participate in this matter which is likely fornication?

I can't.

2 John 9-11     Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:  For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

The doctrine of Christ:

I Corinthians 6:9-10    Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

I Corinthians 6:15-20    Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

After sorting through this with God in prayer and by paying attention to the scriptures called to my mind, I wrote the following letter to my hairdresser.

Marla:

You once told me you are a Christian.

To commit fornication is a very grievous matter and is a way of death and destruction.

The Bible says they who do such will not inherit the kingdom of God.

It is selling your soul for a morsel of flesh.

When you spoke to me of your "boyfriend" and your trip to Ruidoso, I was greatly grieved.

There was a pride and a delight in you when you spoke.

I urge you to seriously consider what you are doing, and if fornication is involved, to repent and turn back to God and save your soul, for fornication is surely a way of eternal death.

If fornication is involved, I cannot be a part of this.

Please cancel my next appointment if it is.

I just cannot approve this nor rejoice with you nor go along with you if that is what it is.

John 15:22   If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.


When we speak as I did to hairdresser, sin is revealed.  Sin is no longer approved.

If God chooses to save that person, his eyes will be opened by God to his sin by our godly words.

Even if the person first rejects our godly words, later the Spirit of God might bring our godly words to his mind and he might repent.

Either way, we reveal sin and save ourselves from their sin by our godly words.
