Psalm 92 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord,
and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning,
and thy faithfulness every night,

3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery;
upon the harp with a solemn sound.

4 For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work:
I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

5 O Lord, how great are thy works!
and thy thoughts are very deep.

6 A brutish man knoweth not;
neither doth a fool understand this.
7 When the wicked spring as the grass,
and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish;
it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

8 But thou, Lord, art most high for evermore.

9 For, lo, thine enemies, O Lord,
for, lo, thine enemies shall perish;
all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn:
I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies,
and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.

12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree:
he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that be planted in the house of the Lord
shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age;
they shall be fat and flourishing;
15 To shew that the Lord is upright:
he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

The people of the world see exactly opposite from the people of God.  They think bad to be good and good to be bad.

Recently Pam Padgett told story of her neighbor who was praising his son because the son had just been promoted to general in the USAF.  He spoke of how hard this son worked for this promotion.

I thought of how many people along the way this son would have to please in order to get this promotion of men of this earth.

At the beauty shop, the operators were all excited over a 17-year-old girl who had won regional Miss Texas contest and was getting to go to Dallas to compete for Miss Texas.

As they spoke of the physical beauty of this young girl and how wonderful it was, all I could think of was how she would have many opportunities to commit fornication.

 6 A brutish man knoweth not;
neither doth a fool understand this.
7 When the wicked spring as the grass,
and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish;
it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

Recently Pam Padgett reported a dream where the blog had received an award ... I was so pleased about this for I felt it to be an "award" from God, not from man.  An award from God would be very important.  An award from man would amount to nothing to me.  But an award from God would indicate God was pleased with the writings and that means everything.

Concerning praise of man and advancement of humans as they reward each other on this earth ...

Psalm 37 ... 1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers,
neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
and wither as the green herb.

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;
so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord;
trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light,
and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him:
fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath:
fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off:
but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be:
yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth;
and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

If praise of man is important to us, we are in danger.

Mt. 4 ...  8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

If we desire praise from God, we have set our course in a right direction.

The apostle Paul says:

Gal. 1 ... 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Phil. 2 ... 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant (servant to God), and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death (obedient to God), even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
