Comments by Joan Boney:

After I was born again, in 1975, in the night while sleeping, God allowed me to witness the following.

In this dream:  A smart-alecky devil was skipping though my chest cavity and ran directly into the Holy Spirit.  The devil tried to jump back and hide.  The Holy Spirit said, "I see you, you devil, you must come out of her."

The devil tried to hold on inside me.  But the Holy Spirit (of greater power than devils) just kept saying, "You must go.  You must go.  You must go.  You must go."  Finally I felt the devil tearing out through my throat and I began coughing as that devil departed.  The name of that devil was a double minded spirit.

Two other devils were cast out of me by the Holy Spirit in the night while I was sleeping.  One was named a lying spirit.

The other's name was not revealed to me.

Devils bring thoughts to our minds to try to destroy us.

Peter says:

1 Peter 5

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

God brings thoughts to our minds.
But so do devils. And so does our own flesh.

The apostle John says:

I John 4

1   Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

(Often devils tell what will happen in future ... thus are prophets.)

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world.

I often "try the spirit" that brings to me an idea.

I just say to the spirit that brought the idea:  "Do you confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh."  And that spirit always brings to my mind, "Yes" or "No."

If the spirit says, "No." then that thought is put to death.  I know what I heard is not from God.

If I fail to try the spirit, the thought brought by that spirit stays in my heart and at some point it comes out my mouth even when an evil spirit brought it to me.  So I must be diligent to try the spirit.

Recently a woman in our church group said she heard "Sandra is going to move to Colorado."

This woman failed to try that spirit.  I told Sandra and she said, "Did Barbara hear that from God?"

I asked Barbara if she tried that spirit concerning Sandra moving to Colorado.  Barbara said she did not try that spirit.  That puts us in a position of not knowing if the information is from God.

Later I decided I could try that spirit.  So I said:  "Spirit that told Barbara that Sandra would be moving to Colorado, "Do you confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh?"  Immediately I heard, "No." Immediately I judge that spirit to have been a "false prophet" delivering a message which is not of God.

I realize you might be afraid to try the spirit.

But first we have to realize the apostle John told us in the Holy Bible that we must try the spirit to see if that spirit is speaking from God.

Then John told us not to be afraid of that spirit for " Greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world."
(I John 4:4)

So don't be afraid to ask that spirit, "Do you confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh?" (This is the only thing I say to that spirit.)

***

Once I said to God, "I don't want to talk to spirits."

God said to me, "You talk to ME." (John 4:24   God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.)  I replied to God, "OH."

And with that I began trying the spirits as the apostle John told us to do.  That was years ago.  And it settled my mind greatly when I established whether or not the spirit bringing the idea to me was from God.

If you don't learn to try the spirit that brings to your mind the thought, you will be like the leaf that is blown in the wind, never really being established in what is God and what is another spirit.

Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

We have 2 women in our little church group who did not try the spirits and fell into terrible habits which will destroy themselves and others.

I contacted each of these women and talked them through the subject of trying the spirits.  Both of these women have been with me for more than 40 years and they know what the Bible tells us to do about trying the spirit and they have tried the spirit sometimes and other times they did not try the spirit and bad things happened because they had an idea and followed that thought without trying the spirit.

2 Corinthians 10

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

I told each of these women they would not survive unless they learned to try the spirit and diligently did what the Bible says about this.

One woman was shocked to think she would be destroyed.

I took her to Psalm 1 and exhorted her on verses 4-6.

We are in the time of the end of this world.  Jesus will return to gather the elect after God brings the great tribulation to judge the world.  It will be so bad in that time that Jesus says:

Matthew 24:12-13  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

21   For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

The plagues of the great tribulation from God:  Rev. 8, 9, 16

If we can't survive now, how do we expect to overcome all the devils that will be working at the end of this earth?

Revelation 12:12  ...  Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

John told us, "Try the spirits whether they are from God."

So we, the church, must do this.
