I would want him to have the Spirit of God in him and be led by the Spirit as I am led by the Spirit, turning to God and asking God for wisdom and then following what the Holy Spirit shows him to do.
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

This is the reason we who know God and know the way of God succeed in all that we do. We follow scripture and concepts given to us by the Holy Spirit in making our decisions. The Holy Spirit shows us the way of God in the matter at hand.
We ask God and live by faith in what we believe God shows us to do.
The world turns to men of the world and depends on humans. It may or may not work out.
But we who are of God have a sure thing for God never fails us and we ask God and follow God.
