God put HIS Holy Spirit in us to lead us and guide us. Choose HIS Spirit and keep the flesh crucified by choosing the Spirit.
Devils want to destroy us.
There is a woman who has left our church group twice. It is a spur of the moment type thing with her for no real reason. When I questioned her the last time, she said she was "embarrassed". (I must have corrected her in something.) Actually her leaving was motivated by devils. Somehow it seemed reasonable to her.
God had me to go say to her, "Is this really what you want to do?"

As I spoke with her, God brought to my mind the time I was a new Christian in 1975 and was attacked by thoughts from devil. I got into bed and just kept saying, "Praise God ... Thank YOU for my salvation." After saying this for about 20 minutes I fell asleep. When I awoke, the battle was over, temporarily!
The devil tempted Jesus and then left "for a season". Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from HIM for a season.
Being thankful to God is a great spiritual warfare weapon.
We must fight the good fight of faith, resisting the devil when he brings thoughts to our minds, and we fight each time devil brings thoughts ... as long as we live on this earth.
