Jeremiah 2:7-8 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled MY land, and made MINE heritage an abomination
8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew ME not: the pastors also transgressed against ME, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

Yesterday afternoon, when my husband and I got back home from an outing, I noticed a bird (a young robin I think) hopping around on our picnic table. As I got closer I saw that it was entangled in some fishing line that was on the table. It couldn’t get free. I wanted to see if we could do something to free it.
We cut it free from the main part of fishing line but some was still wrapped very tightly around its leg, just above its claw. If we let it go like that the leg might be damaged or not be able to heal and grow properly. My husband took it into the house and tried to loosen the line, but wasn’t making much, if any, headway. To me it looked hopeless to be able to get that line off, it was wrapped so tightly. I prayed for God’s help for the bird and for us, what could we do to get this line off?
My husband had tried using tweezers, then a straight pin. As he held the bird, I too, tried the straight pin. It was touchy because I didn’t want to hurt the bird, but you had to get close to its flesh to get under the fishing line. Then I made a little progress, but it still seemed too tight to loosen or cut. I kept praying.
Finally I was able to loosen it a little and with toe nail clippers cut it off. My husband took it outside and let it go. He said that earlier when he was still outside dealing with it, he’d heard what was probably the mother bird getting excited and squawking when its baby would make a noise.
I was so amazed that fishing line could come off and so happy for the bird. It kind of reminds me of how if God takes care of the birds, won’t He much more take care of us.
He had helped this little bird, done what seemed impossible.
Luke 12
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Hebrews 4
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
