Jeremiah 1:16 God says: And I will utter MY judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken ME, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.

God raised up the king of Babylon against the children of Israel and Judah, and the king of Babylon burnt Jerusalem with fire and tore down part of the wall of Jerusalem and took many into Babylon into captivity. God placed a 70-year sentence of captivity on the children of Israel because of their sins against HIM in worshiping other Gods.

They would not obey God nor the prophets of God and brought all this trouble upon themselves by worshiping other "gods" on the rooftops of Jerusalem.

This is an example for us today.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Ephesians 5

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

One morning a couple years ago, fearful and disturbing thoughts began coming to my mind, one after another. It felt like a swarm of bees attacking me from every direction, each "bee" a thought.

I cried out to God "Please help me!"

The thought came to my mind by the Holy Spirit to write down each of these thoughts so I could deal with them.

This seemed like a huge task because there was such a swarm of thoughts. But when I started writing out the thoughts, there were really only a couple of thoughts. It was as if the devil just kept throwing those couple thoughts at me over and over.

When I took those couple thoughts to God, and received HIS help with them, there was peace.

Writing out this account I can see that it was another lie of the devil that it was a huge task to take "all" these thoughts captive, trying to stop me from obeying what we're told in 2 Corinthians 10:5 and what the Holy Spirit instructed me to do.

Jeremiah 9:23-24

23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

Revelation 21

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
