πŸ’₯ When we are born again, we are created by God with a new heart and new spirit so that we can follow God and we no longer serve sin or ourselves.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Now we have a new heart and a new spirit in us, the heart of God and the Spirit of God.

Now we serve God.  We want to be with the people of God.  We love the Bible, the Word of God.

We are not like we were before when we served our own selves and people of this world.

After I was born again, I heard these words from God:  "Be baptized."

I had been baptized when I was 15 years old, but I did not have the Spirit of God and nothing changed in me at all.  I just continued to follow my own desires and ambitions.

When I was 37 years old, God spoke to me causing me to be born again.

The second time I was baptized, when the minister lowered me into the water, the Holy Spirit said:  "This is like being buried with Christ."

When I came out of the water, the Holy Spirit said:  "This is like being raised with Christ."

Romans 6

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into HIS death?

4 Therefore we are buried with HIM by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of HIS death, we shall be also in the likeness of HIS resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with HIM, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with HIM:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Each of us who are born of the Spirit of God are now servants of God.  We no longer serve sin as we once did.  We no longer serve our own selves, doing our will by our flesh.

We are dead to this world and alive to God.

Now we are servants to God every day that God chooses to leave us on this earth.
