A person may be consumed with "why did this happen to me" after they have an illness come upon themselves.
But mostly what we need is "wisdom" in how to go forward.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
And when we ask God for wisdom, we have the promise in James 1:5, that "it shall be given him."

Pam Padgett was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer.
She had her second chemotherapy treatment this week.
She was shown, by God, to make 2 changes this week and was greatly helped over the previous week.
The first week, she tried to work during the treatment. She took her laptop with her. But after that, she found she could not look into a computer screen for the next two days. She was having terrible headaches. God showed Pam to leave her computer at home this week and to take a paper Bible to read. As a result, Pam was greatly helped and did not have the side effects of the first treatment.
During the treatments, at various points they have to flush the tubes. This troubled Pam during treatment # 1. During the second treatment Pam was shown, by God, to remove her face mask when the nurse changed the treatment bag and this made a significant difference, for the better.
God helps us as we go forward by showing us how to approach the situation as needed.
God gives us HIS OWN WISDOM, causing us to make adjustments.

Diseases, such as cancer, are often caused by chemicals in various products to which we are exposed. We often see FDA cause products to be removed from the market because of chemicals.
After her first chemo treatment, Pam found she had an increased sensitivity to some cleaning items in her kitchen, laundry, and bath. She removed those items from her house.
Many years ago, I met a woman who was trained as a registered nurse. She would not allow her daughters to use some brands of over-the-counter underarm deodorants. She felt they had chemicals in them which could cause cancer.
I have a strange swelling of my tongue when certain chemical are brought into the house, especially some of the carpet spot cleaners. My tongue swells immediately. Many times I have had to ask that these specific supplies not be used in carpet cleaning where I live.
I believe some hair dyes are harmful, and even some lotions cause this swelling inside my mouth.
It is very easy to believe that some cancers are caused by chemicals in water and household supplies which are used daily at homes.
Mostly the victim needs wisdom from God in how to go forward when problems happen.
