πŸ’₯ Suffering and persecution for the Word's sake.

Jesus shed HIS blood for our sins by the will of God.

Most of the suffering we, as Christians, are called to do is suffering for the word's sake.

God brings The Word and we hear The Word and we believe and do according to The Word and because we shared what God told us, often we are despised by men and mocked by men.  But we endure the suffering in order to share the Word of God.

This is "our reasonable service" as Christians.

Romans 12:1-2

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I Peter 1

13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ (The Word);

14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

15 But as HE which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Job is an example for us:

Job 13:15   Though HE slay me, yet will I trust in HIM:

Suffering for the Word's sake is suffering because you showed them God.

John 3  (Jesus said) 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
