Ordained by God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Some things are ordained by God to what we would call "good" ... other things are ordained by God to fulfill destruction ...

In I Kings 12, we have an example of the division of the kingdom where 1 tribe, Judah, would go with Solomon's son, while the other 10 tribes would be under the rule of Jeroboam, who turned out to be so evil he was cited for future generations and events were said to be like "the sins of Jeroboam".  Yet all this was ordained by God as a penalty against Solomon because Solomon departed from the way of God and set up idols to false gods to please his "strange" wives.

I Kings 12 ...  1 And Rehoboam (Solomon's son) went to Shechem:for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king.

2 And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he was fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt;) 3 That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spake unto Rehoboam, saying, 4 Thy father made our yoke grievous:now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.

5 And he (Rehoboam) said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.

6 And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this people?

7 And they spake unto him, saying, If thou wilt be a servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be thy servants for ever.

8 But he (Rehoboam) forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:

(This was going to be the instrument used by God to bring about the division of the nation of Israel.)

9 And he (Rehoboam) said unto them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter?

10 And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins. 11 And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke:my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

12 So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day. 13 And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him; 14 And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke:my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

15 Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from the Lord, that he might perform his saying, which the Lord spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Had we been watching at the time of the conflict, we might have even advised Rehoboam, Solomon's son, to accept the advice of the old councellors to keep the kingdom together.  But the kingdom was not going to be kept together because God ordained the separation.  (sort of like God ordained Pharaoh to destruction ... Romans 9)

==========

For several years, we have been using a Bible search which was on Internet to help us find verses which the Holy Spirit would call to our attention.

This was a wonderful Bible search.... very clear ...

This week the people who controlled this instrument changed it and now it has become unusable ... We have had to find another search.

Why would these people stop something that was so perfect?

I even considered writing them and telling them their new search is unusable, while the search they discontinued was just wonderful.

Then I remembered the story in I Kings where destruction was going to come because of Solomon's sins against God.

Perhaps these search people are being set up to destruction ... Now they have an internet presentation where they are asking for money and trying to do a bunch of Bible teaching instead of just helping with a search!

Some people are ordained by God to destruction.  Paul explains that in Romans 9 ...

Romans 9 ... 6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children:but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God:but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. 9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.
10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

18 Therefore hath HE mercy on whom HE will have mercy, and whom HE will HE hardeneth.

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

Also in Psalm 7 we read about instruments which brought about destruction for those people who rejected God and refused to turn from their way.  God raises up instruments to their destruction.

Psalm 7 ...

11 God judgeth the righteous,
and God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If he turn not, HE will whet HIS sword;

HE hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
13 HE hath also prepared for him the instruments of death;

HE ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.

14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity,
and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
15 He made a pit, and digged it,
and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
16 His mischief shall return upon his own head,
and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

Also consider Proverbs 1 against those who will not turn from their evil ways ...

Proverbs 1

 23 Turn you at MY reproof: (says God)
behold, I will pour out MY spirit unto you,
I will make known MY words unto you.

24 Because I have called, and ye refused;
I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel,
and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity;
I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation,
and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind;
when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer;
they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge,
and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
30 They would none of my counsel:
they despised all my reproof.

31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way,
and be filled with their own devices.
32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them,
and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely,
and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

There is a prosperity which is of God and there is a destruction which is also of God.
