Comments by Joan Boney:
On August 5, 1975, God showed me my sins. They weren't just "mistakes". They were sins.
After that I was completely changed, instantly, a new creature!
II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
I was so different that when I spoke to someone I found myself thinking: "Who said that?" and I found I said that.
And I was so grateful to God for what HE had done for me, that I wanted to give to the church. No one had to coerce me into giving, as many ministers do. I found I would start to write out a check at church for an offering and would increase the amount I gave because I wanted to do so.
I was reading Ezekiel 36 one day, and after I read it, then it was very clear to me this is what each of us need.
Ezekiel 36 (God says)
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put MY spirit within you, and cause you to walk in MY statutes, and ye shall keep MY judgments, and do them.

When I brush against the thinking of this world, I often pray:
Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
I don't feel I can do this for myself, but I know God can and will do this for me. I sometimes even feel an instant change taking place in me.
