πŸ’₯ James 1:5

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

How to recognize ideas that are from God.

James 3

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Matthew 11:30  (God says)

For MY yoke is easy, and MY burden is light.

Comments by Joan Boney:

In the early 1980's, I was attending a church called "Word of Faith".

A young married couple announced that God had called them to go to Israel to "minister".

They quit their secular jobs and left for Israel.

Within about a week, they were back at church,

"What happened?"  we asked?

They said:  "We didn't speak the language and there was no way for us to work in Israel."

(They had followed another spirit which deceived them into thinking it was God.)

I John 4

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

We can try the spirit by directly saying:  "Do you confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh."

(God is a spirit.  We speak directly to God.)

Or we can ask God to confirm beyond any doubt that we were supposed to do what we had brought to our mind by a spirit.

The apostle Paul said:

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.  (I Thessalonians 5:21)
