When we follow a scripture, "we are saved" from our own desires and from ways of devils.
John 8:31-32 ... If ye continue in MY word, then are ye MY disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
(Continue means: go on to a specified course of action ... do that instruction and keep doing that instruction)
