We please God by conforming ourselves to the Word of God.
"One step at a time. One step at a time. It is enough." Said God to me.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
As I read the Bible and do the Word of God, I am formed in the image of Christ, after I am born again as that new creature, having the Spirit of God so we can follow that which HE brings to our mind which is the way of God.
When the temptations of this life come, now we have a mighty power through God to overcome. We ask God for help when tempted and God makes a way of escape for us. Usually God will call a scripture to our mind and we choose to go with that scripture, overcoming the temptations and thoughts of the flesh and devil which would take us to destruction.
Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before HIS angels.
The devil sends thoughts to our mind but we overcome by the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures which the Holy Spirit brings to our mind in the temptation and we fight with those scriptures, choosing to do the Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
