The apostle Paul explains:
I Corinthians 10
We can see how God upholds HIS children and leads them even when the situations appear to be impossible.
Our faith in God grows as we consider the many things God does for HIS children in the Old Testament.
As they had to battle and war against various nations to enter into the land promised by God, we also battle to hold on in the problems of this present life.
As the children of Israel used natural swords, we learn to use the sword of the Spirit of God, the Word of God.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
I am doing an entire series of Podcasts which compare OT and NT and should help up to relate to the children of Israel in the Old Testament and cause us to see more of the working of God for them and for us.
