πŸ’₯ Joshua appointed by God to take the place of Moses after his death.

So many of the instructions God gave to Joshua apply to us who are called by God and born again today:  (See the scriptures in red in following instructions.)

Joshua 1

Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

(Through God today, we overcome all obstacles and all enemies that stand against the Word of God.)

6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

(Focus on those words given to you by God by the Holy Spirit on the subject at hand.  You'll never fail.)

7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law (do all the word given you by God by Holy Spirit and in New Testament), which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

(The above verse was the pattern I went by from the time I was born again in 1975 until this present time and continue doing, doing the commandments of God, the laws of God in the New Testament Bible.  It works!  God never fails in what HE tells us.)

9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Many Old Testament scriptures apply today to our lives.

Some of these are:

Isaiah 54:17  God says: No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of ME, saith the LORD.

Genesis 8:22  God says:  While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

(At the end of this world, the great tribulation comes, the powers of heaven are shaken, the sun does stop giving it's light, the moon ceases to shine, the stars fall from heavens; the heavens and earth on fire pass away ... until then Gen. 8:22 continues.)

Isaiah 26:2-3  THOU wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on THEE: because he trusteth in THEE. 4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

(Trust in "the Lord", the Word of God.)

Psalm 23

1 The LORD (The Word) is MY shepherd; I shall not want.

2 HE maketh me to lie down in green pastures: HE leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 HE restoreth my soul: HE
leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 THOU preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: THOU anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

(And there are many other verses in the OT that apply to us today in the NT church.)
