2 John (Receiving a full reward)
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Failing to enter into God's rest because of unbelief:
Hebrews 3
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted ME, proved ME, and saw MY works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known MY ways.
11 So I sware in MY wrath, They shall not enter into MY rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear HIS voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was HE grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware HE that they should not enter into HIS rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Men are sent to search out the land which God has promised to give them:
Numbers 13
2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.
3 And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.

They returned to Moses and gave this report:
Numbers 13
28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
(Only Joshua and Caleb saw that they could overcome through God. Only they had faith in God and in God's power. All the other men had faith only in themselves and they realized they couldn't do this but they failed to see God could do it. Nothing is impossible with God. Before sending them out to search the land God said HE would give them that land. That makes all the difference. God can do it but we can't do it. But they did not believe God, except for Joshua and Caleb.)
31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
So they brought an evil report and negatively affected the whole congregation.

If you have a Word from God saying HE will do something, the battle already is won. That is all you need to focus on, that Word God has given you. That is faith in God.
