* We must not live in fear. Fear can cause us to go down.

Comments by Joan Boney:

We must be diligent to stop every fear by prayer for fear can destroy us.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Peter walked on water until he became afraid.  As soon as he was fearful, he began to sink.

Matthew 14

25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 And when the disciples saw HIM walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 And Peter answered HIM and said, Lord, if it be Thou, bid me come unto Thee on the water.

29 And HE said, Come

And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth HIS hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Peter had the Word of Jesus on the matter:  "Come"

The Word from God is all we need to do the situation at hand.  When we are sure God spoke to us telling us to do something, that is all we need.

Joshua 1:9  God says:   Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Ask yourself this:  "Did God tell me to do this?"

This is the anchor for our soul in the specific issues of this present life.

Can you recognize the Spirit of God when HE speaks to you?

The Holy Spirit brings thoughts to our mind to reveal to us the will of God in each issue of life.

So was that idea from God?  Am I certain?

Was it a fearful thought?

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

II Timothy 1:7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

If Jesus says, "Come", and you start out but then look at the circumstances, you will likely open that door for fear and you will begin to fall.

Our faith to do something must be anchored on that which God has said to do.  If we try to start out without hearing a word from God, we have made an error.  First, we seek God's will or God tells us to do something.  Then we focus only on that Word given us by God.  And we do that Word.

I've seen many church people back down and when I have questioned them, I see they never had a firm word from God to begin that work they are trying to do.

Having that Word from God is the only thing that can hold us up.

II Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Did God tell me to do this?

If so, you can do this.  If not, you can't do this.

It's simple.
