It was very important for Elijah to hide, for he was in danger, and it was God who told him to hide.

In 1982, I had the following word from God by HIS Spirit: "The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God." This is a scripture, but I was on a plane when I heard this and the Holy Spirit brought it to my mind over and over during that trip.
A few days after hearing this word, God directed my attention to some big-time radio-television preachers and to various sins being committed by them in their ministries.
When I could not get a message of warning to these preachers, I began telling of their sins on my radio broadcasts.
Then these preachers got that message.
Then these preachers got that message.
Hate mail toward me flooded into our office from the church people who followed these ministers.
There was a good deal of verbal persecution toward me.
My own friends from church left me.
My own friends from church left me.
Then God gave me a dream which showed great danger. And at the end of that dream, I heard: "Don't go until you see Exodus 15."
I had no doubt this was a warning from God to me and that I must cancel all scheduled meetings and "hide myself" at my apartment while continuing to record radio broadcasts.
Also I was reminded of this scripture: The time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. John 16:2
So I cancelled my entire schedule for 1982, and remained hidden in my apartment in Dallas while continuing to make radio broadcasts recordings.
Another minister was Jimmy Swaggart who made a tearful repentance statement, when caught with a prostitute, said on his national TV show: "I have sinned."
But Swaggart did the exact same thing a second time, and this time he said to the police officer who caught him, "It's flat out none of your business." (Swaggart was caught a second time with a prostitute.) Reported on Wikipedia the Internet Encyclopedia.

During the subsequent years, Robert Tilton and wife divorced. He married another woman and they divorced. (Adultery: Matthew 5:32) Then Tilton married a third wife. He lost his church in Farmer's Branch, Texas. The building was even torn down, so today there is no evidence that a church once met at that location. One of his own congregation charged Tilton in the USA courts with fraud. ABC Primetime Live aired an expose of Robert Tilton and the way he deceived radio/television contributors concerning "prayer requests". Extortion. (see Wikipedia)
Amazingly I didn't realize I had seen Exodus 15 happen in the lives of three of these big time preachers until 2020, though I had viewed the national news reports and the flood of news which was about these preachers, telling of their scandals which happened from 1987 through 1991.

The flood of scandals which aired on national TV news, were as the drowning of Pharaoh and his men in Exodus 15.
Exodus 15:1-5 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for HE hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath HE thrown into the sea.
The Lord is my strength and song, and HE is become my salvation: HE is my God, and I will prepare HIM an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt HIM.
The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is HIS name.
Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath HE cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
I Corinthians 5:4-5 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

In a few years, Exodus 15, began happening in my life as these big-time ministers were exposed to all and one was even put into prison, Jim Bakker.
Bakker's collapse centered around his adultery with a church secretary, and fraud charges which led him to a prison sentence. (see Wikipedia)
His wife, Tammy Faye, divorced Jim Bakker and then remarried, got cancer, and died.
Both Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye Bakker committed adultery according to the following scriptures:
Matthew 5:32 But I (Jesus) say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
- The husband who divorces a faithful wife will be the cause of the faithful wife's adultery when she remarries.
- The faithful wife who remarries after divorce commits adultery.
- The man who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
Also, by the following scripture, we see the woman is not to leave her husband but if she does choose to leave, she must remain unmarried or return to her husband.

In the church, it is everyone's business when a "brother" commits fornication, says the apostle Paul in the following:
I Corinthians 5:11;14 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. ... Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

(There are many today in ministries who extort money from the church people through use of scriptures which these preachers use to condemn those who do not give money or to frighten them into giving money.)

Another of the preachers that I contacted is Robert Tilton.
He had a TV show in the 1980's.
One of the prophet's from our church group, where Tilton was pastor, called me while weeping on the phone. She had been invited to be on Tilton's TV show and just before they went on camera Tilton said to her: "Don't mention anything about being a prophet for it's not popular."

Those reports aired on National TV news drowned Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart and Robert Tilton. They were never again to achieve their previous glory, though each of them tried to continue and had a following.
People in churches make a serious error in following such men who should be put away from the church, according to the apostle Paul who said:
This might be their only hope.
For the scriptures tell us:
Hebrews 10:26-31 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
If we don't know any better, we have a sacrifice for sins, Jesus Christ.
But when we know such things as fornication and drunkenness are sins, then what sacrifice remains if we return to those sins? For there is no more sacrifice for repeated sins after we have been enlightened to know this is a sin, for to do so would be to crucify Jesus Christ a second or third time to pay for repeated sins.

Also it is a very serious matter for church people to continue to sit with the evil doers in the churches:
The penalty for such is described for us by the apostle Paul in II Thessalonians 2.
vv. 10-12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

There are many church goers who do not want to know the truth and who do not love the truth. They continue with the lies of the various deceptions at their church groups and they depart from church doctrine of the Bible to go in another doctrine where humans are approved while living in various sins. And they forgive the brothers who are fornicators and such rather than withdrawing from such "wicked persons" as the apostle Paul told us to do. I Corinthians 5
Also they exalt their own preachers and their church groups over the word of God by staying with their church groups and their corrupt ministers.
They hate the good and love the evil.
And they set their paths in the way of destruction.

Prophets will expose evil in the ministries and in the churches when God shows them that evil. This is what prophets do.
Consider John the Baptist:
Luke 3:7-9 Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

The wrath of God comes in the end to judge both the world and those who turn away from truth in the church groups.
