When People Leave You

I John 2

18-19   Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

People come across our path and identify themselves to us as Christians.  We speak of God to them and they disappear.

Did we speak wrong?  we wonder.

Why don't they want to be around me?

The answer is in I John 2.

They went out from us because they were not of God.  They are of their own churches.  Or they are of their own minds.  But they are not of the Spirit of God, born of the Spirit, otherwise they would have continued with us.

They are antichrist, discarding those scriptures that don't suit them.

But those who are of God cling to scripture.

Those who aren't of God cling to humans and to churches.

When they are born of God, they come to us who are born of God.  And in spite of all, they continue with us.
