Rain from God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Some days it seems there is nothing, a dry time.  In such we feel dead.  There is no life for us, even when we read scripture.  Where is the Holy Spirit? we wonder.

Then there will be a little something but it is so little it is hard to consider there is something there is in that scripture.

It reminds me of the following story:

I Kings 18:41-46    And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.  (They were in midst of drought.)

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. (any clouds?)

And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing.

And he (Elijah) said, Go again seven times.

And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand.

And he (Elijah) said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

Elijah had already told Ahab "there is the sound of abundance of rain" when there was no rain. v 41

Now Elijah tells Ahab to get down from the mountain before the rain stops him.  Again there is no rain at the moment Elijah delivered that message.

The then following happens.

And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel

When you read Bible and there is a little something in a verse, stop and focus on that verse.  It is likely there is a big rain in that verse and the Holy Spirit causes that rain from God to water your earth.

Also we must endure during the dry moments, forcing ourselves to remember the times God revealed HIMSELF to us.

Action for me is easy.  It is the walking that can be more trying.

Isaiah 40:29-31    HE giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might HE increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Like eagles, we catch the wave of that scripture and soar through the air effortlessly.
