Wanting to be accepted ... Wanting to be popular.

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

As humans, most of us know what it is to want to be accepted by other people.

Pam Padgett tried in many ways to be "one of the gang" as she was growing up.  She always wanted to  fit in and to have people like her but she didn't know how to make this happen.

It turns out that God's way is just exactly opposite.

God wants to keep HIS children separate, and often God will give us characteristics to accomplish that purpose, so they will not choose to have anything to do with us, making us separate from them.

Consider the following example:

Genesis 46

Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.   And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:   His sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.

31-34  And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father's house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;   And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.   And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?   That ye shall say, Thy servants' trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

The Egyptians would not want to have anything to do with the children of Israel because of their occupation which was to them an abomination.

Thus God could keep HIS people separate from the world.

The apostle Paul said:

II Cor. 6

14-18    Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the LIVING God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be MY people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean; and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
