Jesus didn't try to make them understand
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
John 2 ... 18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? 19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21 But he spake of the temple of his body. 22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Jesus let the Word stand without trying to make them understand what he was saying to them.
God would give understanding to those who belong to God.
Jesus, THE WORD, spoke the Word.
The Word divides those who understand from those who do not understand and God will give understanding to those whom HE calls.
Mt. 11 ...
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
Understanding is from God.
Mt. 16 ... 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist:some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona:for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Truth is revealed by God. Truth is put into our hearts by God. No man revealed these truths to Peter. God, the Father which is in heaven, put truth into the heart of Peter.
We speak the truth, the Word, and God gives understanding to whom HE wills.
One time I spoke a message to a woman. She replied, "I don't understand that message." I replied, "I can't give you understanding." Only God can cause you to understand!
Speak the word only.
