Asking God how to do project

Pam Padgett ... teacher

When Joan first asked me to setup the blog, I prayed asking God to show me how to do this.  Then I started looking on the internet.  There was a lot of information about blogs on the internet and, at first, it was a little overwhelming.  I asked God how to sort through all of this.  I kept being impressed that we needed a blog that was simple, not elaborate, since the important thing is not the blog but the messages.

This led me to start looking at tools available to setup a blog.  There were two or three that seemed worth looking into.  When I did this, the tool available on blogspot seemed to best allow the setup of a simple blog, so I chose it.

After setting up a test blog, I realized that blogspot not only provided a tool to setup the blog, but also allowed our blog to run on their computers.  This is something I had realized we would need, but hadn’t focused on yet.  It was quite amazing to see how everything we needed was totally provided with blogspot, and there is no charge for this.  Also, when we later decided to use Google ads, there was no problem to link the ad to our blog.

This morning I noticed that one of the other tools I had looked into would allow a blog to run on their computers without charge … but in order for Google ads to be used, one would need to have the blog run on yet another company’s computers at a charge.  More complexity and more cost.

While thinking about this, I marveled in God.  With just the thought … that our blog needed to be simple … I was led to what has turned out to be easy for us in every way, even when we decided to use ads.

I was reminded that God is able to make wise the simple …

Psalm 19: 7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Solved by God

Pam Padgett ... teacher

While talking with Joan recently, I recalled something that happened when I was in college and how God intervened to help me....

My older sister had been at college two years when I started attending the same school.  She dated a man who was a member of a fraternity, and had been invited to become a member of the fraternity's "women's auxiliary", assisting with fraternity social functions.  She was very excited for me to join the social circles she was in, and especially wanted me to meet members of the fraternity.

The first week of school she invited me to go to a student bar where many of the fraternity guys gathered on Thursday nights.  I went, but found what was going on there to be so bad (lewdness, drunkenness, etc.) that I was unable to stay and walked back to the dormitory.

A week or so later my sister asked if I'd go to an outdoor luau with one of the freshmen "pledges" at the fraternity.  The luau site was about 20 miles away near a river, and there would be a campfire.  The setting was very appealing to me, plus I was excited about having a date, and I agreed to go.

Then, a few days before the luau, my sister told me that arrangements had been made for one of the other fraternity guys to take me to the luau because my date would be spending the day at the luau site building a hut for us ... a young man I had never even met was building a hut "for us"!

Suddenly the reality of this luau became very clear to me.  This was not going to be people sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows.  The lewdness and drunkenness I had seen at the student bar was probably mild compared to what would be going on at this luau ... and I wouldn't be able to walk home.

I told my sister that I couldn't go along with this and did not want to go, but she kept insisting that it was too late for me to back out, that it was too late for this guy to find another date.

I turned very strongly to God, asking Him to somehow get me out of this situation, but there seemed no way out.  At one point I  asked God to let me have appendicitis, preferring to be in a hospital having surgery than to go to this luau.

The morning of the luau I woke up and checked to see if I might have any pain that might indicate appendicitis, and was disappointed that I felt fine.  I kept praying for God to somehow work this out.  Time was really running out!  When I looked outside, it was raining a little, but not much. However, the rain became heavier and heavier as the day went on.

Around 2 pm I received a call from the fraternity guy who was going to take me to the luau site.  He told me how sorry he was to have to tell me this, but the luau had to be cancelled.  The luau site had been totally flooded, washing away all the huts that had been built, this would include the hut my date had built for us..
He told me how many years the luau had been held at this same site (a lot of years), and that nothing like this had ever happened before.

I rejoiced, knowing that God had delivered me!

Simplicity of God's answer to problem

John Rodgers ... Member of Body of Christ

I was thinking about putting another shed up in my backyard.

And the thought came to me “ Why don’t you just get rid of the stuff you have?”

----------------------

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Years ago, I would go to get my mother and myself take out food.  It always cost $5.30.  I always took that exact amount in and left my purse with my mother in the car.

One day, I was looking in my coin purse for the 30 cents.  I always used a quarter and nickle.  But that day I couldn't find a quarter and a nickle.

As I continued hunting for the quarter and nickle, a "gentle" impression came like a whisper in my ear, saying:  "Three dimes will work ..."

I replied, "That's right!  Three dimes will work!"  (I had plenty of dimes in my coin purse.)

Then I started laughing.  I knew that was the Holy Spirit talking to me.  It was like HE was in back seat of car, leaning over my shoulder watching me struggle with something simple.

Often the answer is so simple ... but a different way from that which we were thinking.

The Holy Spirit helps us when we are blocked by our pattern of thinking or by our way of life.

They receive the greater damnation

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Words of Jesus ...

14Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. 1

5Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.  Mt. 23

The disciples came to Jesus asking Him about the end times and the first thing Jesus said to them is many would come saying HE, Jesus is the Christ, and they would deceive many.  The will come saying, Jesus is Lord, and they will deceive many because they say Jesus is Lord.

And Jesus said not to let them deceive you ...

3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5For many shall come in my name, saying, I
(Jesus) am Christ; and shall deceive many.  Mt. 24

True wisdom

Pam Padgett ... teacher

1 Corinthians 3: 18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

True wisdom is from God.  Yet worldly wisdom is all around us, such as about finances, nutrition, exercise, to name just a few areas.  Sometimes we find that we’ve taken in some of this.

Rather than being wise in this world, we’re counseled to become a fool, so that we may be wise.
One of the definitions of “fool” that I found interesting is: empty-headed person.  An empty-headed person would not have any idea of what to do about a matter.

When we think we know what to do, we often forget to turn to God.  But when we don’t know what to do, we tend to quickly turn to God, asking Him what to do, seeking His wisdom.  And God gives His wisdom to those who ask in faith.

James 1; 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Let us lay aside the wisdom of this world and turn to God in each matter we face, seeking His wisdom, which is true wisdom.
=====================================================================

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Often I am a "fool" in this world ... not knowing when the elections are or who is running.  Failing to know all the medical information going about.  Concerning bodily, exercise believing the following:  8For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. I Tim. 4

I was born again in 1975.  At that time, I owned a business in Dallas.  After I was born again, all I cared about was the Bible and knowing the way of God.  I felt strongly led to set aside TV, plays, sporting events, everything other than the Bible and for the next 4 years this is what I did.  During that time, I went on buying trip for my business and one of my employees went with me and my parents met us in Albuquerque, NM.  As we were driving along the road they began speaking of Jimmy Carter.  I said, "Whose Jimmy Carter."  They were shocked.  I'd never heard his name before.  I think he had just been elected president of the United States.

God was at that time doing much re-creative work in me as I focused on Bible, giving up the old man for the new.  I chose to become a fool in the ways of this world.  And I still choose this.  Much of the things of this world do not interest me at all.  I usually do not see newscasts.  These just tickle our flesh and stir us up to evil mostly.  I found the 4 years I missed newscasts, I really didn't miss anything at all that was valuable to me.  I always knew God would show me if I needed to know.

When God gives us talents

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I was re-reading Mt. 25 ... parable of the talents ...

14For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

16Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. 17And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

19After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. 23His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

28Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  Mt. 25

The one who hid that 1 talent and didn't produce with it ... God took that
talent away from him and gave it to the one who had 10 talents and producted
with that which he had been given.

If you have the word of God and fail to use it properly, it can be taken
away from you and given to another who will use it.

18But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and
more unto the perfect day.
Prov. 4

The person who hides, letting the word of God slip .. or hides without
sharing that with the church ... grows duller and duller of hearing.

12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you
again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as
have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the
word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14But strong meat belongeth to them
that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses
exercised to discern both good and evil.  Heb. 5

If that person keeps mishandling the word of God, it can get to point that
person can no longer discern good and evil.  And the person gets weaker and
weaker and some are sick and some die.

27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord,
unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28But let a
man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that
cup. 29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh
damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30For this cause many
are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.  I Cor. 11

(The Lord's supper is the eating and drinking of the word of God ... it has nothing at all
to do with crackers and grape juice.)

But that person who hears the word of God and applies it to his own life
properly and then shares it with the church gets more and more light.
So while one person gets duller and duller, the other person has more and
more light

------------------

Be warned:

You must deal properly with the word of God.

When you hear a word by the Spirit of God ... you must apply that word
properly in your own life, doing that word ... then you need to share that
word and share how you applied it in your life.

When you do this you will be given more and more light from God.

...........................

Also notice ...The man who was given 1 talent had less to deal with than the man who was
given 5 talents.

But the point is it was not more than he was able to handle.

-----------------

The one who did not deal properly with the talent he was given was called
"wicked and slothful servant."

Slothful means "lazy" ... and "lazy" means ... unwilling to work or use
energy; characterized by lack of effort or activity;  showing lack of care;

------------------

The word of God should be the most important thing in your life.

But some allow the word of God to slip because of "cares of this life,
deceitfulness of riches, lust of other things"  and there word of God
becomes unfruitful because of such.  Mk. 4

29And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for
it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not
that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30And if thy right hand offend
thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that
one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast
into hell. Mt. 5

----------------

If you have been "slothful" in handling the word of God in the past, that
doesn't mean you have to be "slothful" in the future.

And if something is keeping you from dealing properly, just pluck it out or cut it off ... do
whatever you have to do to focus properly on word of God and deal with it
properly, putting it into your own life and then sharing it with others
along with how it worked in your life.
Each of us have to be diligent to deal with that which we are given.
You will not be able to make the information multiply if you let the word
given slip to the ground.

It is important that we have every word from the mouth of God. And that we deal with every word properly.

So we have to be diligent to handle that which we are given by the Holy
Spirit ... and to put it to work in our own lives ... and then to share it
with the church.  Thus we multiply the talents we are given.

Evidence that I really believe?

Pam Padgett ... teacher

Jesus said …

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me
While considering this verse, I thought of how Jesus is the Word.  Yet, even though we believe in God, the Creator of all things, it is sometimes more difficult to believe … to the point of doing … a word that the Spirit of God has drawn to our attention.

When being led to look into a scripture, especially if it is one I have read many times before, I have sometimes been stopped by a thought … “Do I really believe this?”  … and examined myself.   A verse can seem so familiar that I assume I believe it, but that may not be the case.

What is God saying in this verse?

Do I truly believe this?

Is there any evidence in my life that I believe what I’m told here?

Is my life conformed to this?

Recently while dealing with fearfulness Isaiah 41:10 was called to my attention ...

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41

A gentle thought came ... "Do I really believe this?".    I started considering "Do I really believe God is with me?", "Do I really believe God will strengthen, help, and uphold me?"    When prayerfully considering these questions, my eyes were opened to problem areas, giving me an opportunity to strongly turn to God with these things (and continue to turn to Him with them), allowing God to conform me to His Word in this area.

-------------------

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I stopped and examined myself by Pam's exhortation.

"Is there any evidence in my life that I believe what I’m told here? "

In Jn. 14 ... Jesus said, "ye believe in God, believe also in me"

There have been times that I have remembered that right now Jesus sits at the right hand of God and intercedes for me.  Right now!  The realization of this is "evidence" that I believe in HIM.  I know HE is sitting at the right hand of God interceding for me.   And I know the prayer Jesus prays for me will never fall short of my need.  And I know it will be answered.

1Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;  Heb. 8

24For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; Heb. 9

I thought that was such a strong line in Pam's email ... Is there any evidence in my life that I believe what I am told here?   What a good way for us to examine the scriptures that we think we believe.  What is the evidence in my life that shows that I really believe the word God has brought to my mind by His Spirit?

Few find way of life

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Recently, when I went to bed, I heard, "Few there be that find it."
I thought about people who will take in some scripture but not all scripture
because they find some scripture offensive to their way of life.

I met a man once who said, "I never read the Bible because if I read the
Bible I would have to change."

This man was more honest than most people who read the Bible for they don't
even think about what they are reading as it would apply to their way of
life.  They are dead and don't realize they are dead."

-------------------

Years ago, I learned that a man from the church I attended at that time
was going to bars.  When I found out about this I told
him to do the following ... that before he went to the bar that night, I told him
to sit down and exhort me in writing concerning a Bible passage.  (This man was
a teacher of a Bible class at that church group.)

He did this for several days and then stopped.  He stopped because he said
writing these exhortations to me this was causing him not to want to go to the bar.

-----------------------

13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the
way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto
life, and few there be that find it.  Mt. 7

------------------------

Few will actually go in the way of God because it would cost them something.
To go in the way of God, I had to give up achievements.

14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus
Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.  Gal.
6

---------------------

Paul said:

7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8Yea
doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the
knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all
things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, Phil. 3

------------------------

And after we have given up those things by the Holy Spirit, we look back
later and find those things we once cherished are nothing but vanity,
worthless, futile, useless, unprofitable.

So instead of giving up something, we were actually delivered from futility.
But at the time we stepped out to give them up because of the Word of God,
we saw only the Word of God and were trying to do the Word of God, leaving
behind that which conflicted with the Word of God.

Few will find the way of life.  (Mt. 7)

All sins paid for

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The blood of Jesus Christ paid for our sins ... past sins, present sins, future sins.

We are sorry when we sin ... but to fall into grief or despair is to try to pay for that sin ...

The blood of Jesus Christ paid for that sin ... and all sins.

There is no more offering for sin.

We simply accept that HE paid with HIS blood for that sin.  We have to put it aside and go forward, grateful to God that HE made a way for us to come to HIM through the blood of Jesus.

His sacrifice is perfect.

Can you imagine how frightening it would be to appear at judgment seat of Christ and think that somehow we have done something here that is worthy to pay for our past sins?  It might not be enough ... actually it wouldn't be enough.

But the blood of Jesus is enough and will never fail and all our sins ... past, present, future, are paid by HIS blood.

He is all that is worthy.

Rev. 5

1And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

3And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 4And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

5And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

6And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. 7And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. 8And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

9And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
Rev. 5

Coming of Jesus

Joseph Meriweather ...member of body of Christ

Several years ago I had a dream

I was in the army with other army men in a field.
All of sudden in the sky there was a ball of fire moving in the sky .
It  was a fearful sight .

Then I heard a loud voice saying, Here comes the LORD.

-----------------

10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. II Peter 3

When everything you do prospers

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

There is a guarantee from God concerning prosperity if we will do the following ... God says everything we do will prosper if we do following ...

1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.  Psa. 1

Prosper means ... turn out well

I've seen people read the Bible and listen to various preachers and not prosper.

Paul said of one group, "You are dull of hearing" ... Paul said these people couldn't discern good from evil and Paul went on to tell us the reason they could not tell good from evil.

11Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. 12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.  14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.   Heb. 5

In our own church group, we had a woman who was "dull" of hearing.  We did everything possible to turn her but she would slip back into her bad habits of hearing the word of God but failing to meditate on that word she heard and consequently she did not actually do that word as it applied to her own life.

She got weaker and weaker until she "fell asleep" ... always learning but never able to grow in things of God.

As of the past month, she made a strong turn around ... She began "meditating" on that which she heard from God. And then doing that which the Word instructed, applying it to her own life and making appropriate changes based on the instruction giving by the Word she heard from the Spirit of God. All of a sudden she had things to share with body of Christ.  She began growing up in the Word and began being recreated in the image of God through the Word and through faith in Jesus Christ.  She entered into a "sound mind" where once she had been without common sense.  It was amazing how fast the turn around came.

Meditating in the word of God ...  You simply take the word given to you by the Spirit of God and pray over it, asking God to show you how to apply that portion of HIS Word to your life.  Often it helps to take a dictionary and look up the meaning of key words.  Sometimes while doing that God will remind you of various things in your specific life and you can make changes which are appropriate based on that word you have heard from God.  This puts you in the path of God and when you go that way everything changes.  It might look like you will suffer loss by doing that but actually you end up getting free from things which harm you and you will prosper (have good success) if you just continue in that Word given by God.  It may take a month or a week or several months.  But if you continue doing that Word you will proper.  And when you prosper you will look back and know that you prospered because of God.

Meditating in the word of God enables you to do the word of God.

8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.  9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Josh. 1

We meditate in the specific word given to us by the Spirit of God.  Sometimes that word will come to you as a thought ... Stop and consider it immediately, not letting it slip away.  (Write it down when you can.)

Sometimes you will be reading Bible and get hung up on a verse and even if you try to read past that verse you find you can't think of what you are reading because you are thinking of that verse.  There is a message from God to you in that verse.  Go back and think on that verse.  What is God saying to you?  What do you need to do to conform your life to that verse?  If needed, look up key words in dictionary and think on how these things fit your life and especially think on what you need to do to adjust your life so it conforms to the instruction given in that word.

In Deut. 30, we read that the Word is in us ...all we need to do is to do it.  (If you get letter in mail and fail to open the envelop it doesn't do you any good ... so it is with the Word.  You must apply it to your life.)

11For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

12It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

13Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

14But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. Deut. 30

Conclusion of whole matter

Pam Padgett ... teacher

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

It is God we are to fear ... not the devil, not other people, not thoughts brought by the devil, not the wisdom of man.  We are to fear God.

Recently, while considering this scripture, I thought of how if I truly fear God, I will try to do what I believe He has told me to do ... handling the Word received from God correctly, as we've received many exhortations to do ... not wanting to displease Him.

Several scriptures were called to my attention recently to help me overcome fears, but I went the opposite way from many of these when fears from the devil came.  I need to become stronger in doing what we're told in those scriptures; turning to God and depending on Him to establish His will in the matter, strengthen me, help me, and uphold me when fears come from the devil.

I've been meditating in those scriptures, prayerfully considering how to do them and tried to do what I saw  to do.

For example, I examined myself to see what I was concerned or anxious about, then prayed, laying out my requests in each matter to God.  (Phil 4:8 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.)

I asked God for wisdom in some specific areas. (James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.)

Similar action was taken with several other scriptures.

To help me in taking every thought captive to truth from God, I prayed and asked God to help me recognize thoughts I need to deal with, and also have started writing down these thoughts.

In past, there were times when a thought would come to me, but I put off dealing with the thought and then let it slip away.  By trying to diligently write down these thoughts, it makes me very aware of the thought, keeps me from forgetting to deal with it by turning to God, and also gives me the opportunity to write down what I believe God shows me about each thought and meditate in those things.

II Corinthians 10: 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Stopping tongue

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Recently I was speaking with Pam by phone. My TV was on and muted.  Crawlers began showing across the bottom of the screen and as we talked I noticed the news headlines.  One headline really caught my attention and caused me to groan.  I strarted to tell Pam what I'd seen but the stopped myself.  It would not bring grace (cause her to glorify God).  It would cause her to groan inside as I had groaned.  I stopped my tongue.

29Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.  Eph. 4

grace:  feeling of gratitude to God

Twice I was tempted to tell Pam the news story.  I knew each time the story would bring evil and not good.

Job said:

3Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 4Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. Job : 40

Question:  If I speak this will it cause the other person to have gratitude toward God?

Getting wisdom

Pam Padgett ... teacher

Proverbs 19: 8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

It is not external things/possessions that are good and profitable for our souls, but wisdom and understanding.  How different than the ways of man!  We know that through God is the only way we can have wisdom and understanding, and that God has promised us in James 1:5-7 that if we ask for wisdom, asking in faith and not waivering, He will give it to us.

We then need to keep the wisdom and understanding God gives us.

Keep
–         to take care of
–         to protect or guard; defend
–         to maintain in good order

While considering what we’re told here, I wrote down two things I believe God has allowed me to understand by His Spirit and asked God what might pervert or steal each of these things from me and what I needed to do to protect/guard these things. This was enlightening to me.

It can be easy to rejoice over something God has shown us and assume since we've heard, we "have" it, and not really hold on to it, protecting it in our hearts, and continuing in it.  Many of us have probably done this; I know I have.  But this is like in the parable Jesus told us about the seed that fell on the stony ground …
Mark 4: 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.

Prov. 4: 4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. 5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. 6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. 8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. 9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I was thinking about the instruction God has given me in Gal. 6: 14 ... God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ ...

What could cause this instruction to be stolen?
I think the main thing that could cause this instruction to be stolen is for me to continue to go in ways opposite, trying to achieve things.

What I did was to stop those things which would bring glory to me ... refuse to participate ... refuse to feed myself with those things.

All my life I have been involved in various competitions ... in sports and in achieving at school (degrees)

One thing I did was to remove ESPN from my favorite channels on my TV.  I no longer see these competitions as a surf the channels.  It felt very strange at first but now I no longer think about it at all.

I tried playing bridge on computer but at end of each hand it shows you how you compared with the entire field ... so I just stopped playing on computer ...not wanting to achieve for myself.
We have to be sensitive to those things that would cause the word to be stolen and especially refuse to feed the old way.

--------------------
Sandra heard from God that her appearance is too important to her ... What she would need to do is to abstain from things that had to do with physical appearance and to avoid feeding this area.

Each of us are this way.

When we believe we have an instruction from God we must take appropriate actions and refuse to feed that problem area.

And we continue to refuse it as we go forward ... we must continue in the way that is right and avoid the other way.

--------------------

I try to be very diligent to refuse to go in any way that might make me look good or might cause me to achieve in worldly things.

HE is worthy ... keeping my focus there is important.

Help for all

Renee Bonfield ... evangelist

There is a coffee shop at the bottom of our street with two benches outside. The benches are side-by-side, with two arms touching.

I sat down on one of the benches and noticed a fly on the arm of the other bench. I tried shuing the fly away but he did not fly.

I tried tapping the arm of his bench. He didn't fly. I even blew on him but he did not fly.

However, he was able to walk. I said "can't you fly little fly?"

Then I prayed for him asking God to take care of him and not let him get hurt.

Then I turned to the fly and said "hang in there little fly. Help is on the way." Almost immediately he took off and was able to fly.
