Today I heard the word "surfeiting".
I knew immediately what this meant. I have been redecorating my home.
We have lived here for 14 years now and I feel that a color change is
needed to "spruce it up" so to speak. I am looking to lighten the feel
of it ........ so ... doing too much .... too much looking at web sights
.... too much shopping ...... too much thinking and planning .......
too much scraping off wallpaper.
God is telling me to "cool it!" Yesterday when I got home I was exhausted from 2 days of constant running.
Luke 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
Surfeiting: doing something in an excess degree, an amount that is too large or in an excess degree
How wonderful that HE cares for us through HIS correction so we are able to stay on the correct path.
I am looking forward to today. Now I will rest ...... in HIM .... and from my own works!
There is nothing like knowing that we have a heavenly Father that loves us.

I can relate. I, too, like to finish things and often push myself and overdo.
I think even today this admonishment must have helped me. I had done one load of clothes which I’d hung on a line to dry. I needed to take our dog for a walk and also pick up my sister and take her to an appointment. I thought about trying to do another load of clothes before I left but figured that could wait til another day.
I was glad I didn’t for it would’ve put an unneeded strain on me and caused me to rush and possibly be late for my sister.

I am reminded that God's yoke is easy and His burden in light. (Matthew 11:30)
