πŸ’₯ Take heed to ourselves

Beth Martin, member of the body of Christ

2 John 1:8  Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

This scripture has been called to my attention several times recently.  I believe it is relevant for us now. In light of the exhortation about surfeiting and being ready for the return of Jesus.

Luke 21:33-34  Jesus says ... Heaven and earth shall pass away: but MY words shall not pass away.

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day
(of the Lord) come upon you unawares.

35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36  Watch ye therefore
(watch ourselves, our hearts), and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

The Spirit is warning us to be very careful of how we spend our time and affection at this point in time.

Our focus must be on Jesus and the Word He has given each of us for this specific point in time.

For us now ...... pray over our schedule and activities before we do them ....... asking God if we should do them.

I have had a "bucket list" of things I have wanted to do. I have done several of these but lately my desire to finish this list has decreased.

When I ask God about this, I am reminded that this earth is going to be destroyed. So why do I want to see things that are going to be destroyed? Why do I care about things of this earth?

Our focus and desire needs to be fixed on God and what He has said to us. It is imperative that we remain fixed and focused on Him to receive a FULL reward ..... so we need to look to ourselves.
