Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Fornication is a sin different from other sins.
Paul explains:
15Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. I Cor. 6
Fornication is a sin against the Body of Christ.
In I Cor. 5, Paul said if a "brother" (church member) commits fornication, put him out of the church. Do not even "eat" with him.(Don't try to share scripture with him anymore. The evil doer will pull you down as you try to turn him.)
9I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 10Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12For what have I to do to judge them also that are without?(we do not judge the world but we are supposed to judge the church on these sins) do not ye judge them that are within? 13But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. I Cor 5
with such an one no not to eat. I Cor. 5:11 (continued correction will not work ..)
Paul also says to put idolaters, drunkards, extortioners, railers, and covetous out of the church. (I Cor. 5)
I just put someone out of our church group. I believe she is an "idolater". Her worship is physical appearance. And she continues to choose it over God.
I am comforted because I believe the scriptures show such a person could still be saved.
11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ (The word of God). 12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. I Cor. 3
Also in I Cor. 5, we Paul said this of the fornicator. 4In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
We have to put these people out of the church and we have to "not eat with them" (no longer share the Word of God with such). The word we would share will only allow them to connect without real repentance and they will continue their sin in the church without real repentance and it will be a leaven to the church pulling us down ...so Paul says:
Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
(Providing daily encouragement for the body of Christ by the Spirit of God to help the church in the end times.)

Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare
ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by
themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not
wise.
Compare –
estimate, measure, or note the similarity or dissimilarity
between
Measure –
judge someone or something by comparison with a standard
When we
compare ourselves among ourselves, we use someone else as the “standard” to measure
ourselves and what we’re doing ..., rather than seeking to know how God views us
and the matter we’re dealing with. Yet,
only God’s judgment matters.
By our own
minds, we could put ourselves into bondage trying to meet a standard that God
didn’t set for us, or we could think we’re “fine” when, in fact, we’re not. We have to turn to God and trust Him to show
us His view of us and what we’re doing. Am I
doing what God wants me to do? This is the standard for each of us.
2
Corinthians 10: Lord. 18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but
whom the Lord commendeth.
A few months
ago when I retired, thoughts came telling me that I hadn’t saved as much money
for retirement as other people had saved.
When I turned to God with this thought, one of the scriptures I was reminded of was 2 Corinthians 10:12. While looking at this verse, I had an
understanding that I don’t know if what other people have saved will be enough
for me, or whether it would be more than what I need. God knows exactly what my needs are …. now
and in the future. And He is able to provide my
needs. He may choose to have me get another job, or not. But, in some way, He will meet my
needs. Phillipians 4: 19 But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. And now, three months
later, I look back and rejoice at the way God continues to abundantly provide
everything I need. It makes no difference what other people have done to
prepare for retirement, for God leads me and provides for me.
Another
example ... this morning a thought came telling me that I wasn’t sending as many
messages as others. When I turned to God
with this thought, I heard “Have you shared everything you’ve been given?” Rather than considering what anyone else does, I need to be faithful
to share what I’ve been given.
The
temptation to compare ourselves among ourselves comes as we deal with various
things. But we're warned that it is not
wise to go this way.
Deceived by those who say "Jesus is Lord"
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Mt. 24
When you first look at the above scripture it looks like men will come (in the end times) saying "they" are Christ and will deceive many.
But this is not what Jesus is saying.
Jesus is saying these men will come saying HE, Jesus, is the Christ, and because they say HE is Christ (Jesus is LORD) people in church groups will listen to them and they will deceive many.
They are like those described in Jude ...
17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. Jude
They will come to us saying, "Jesus is Lord" ... but they do not have the real spirit of God. They put themselves into the ministry or the church group by their own will.
I once heard a businessman say that he decided he would be a minister. (He had been a pilot who was flying a plane for a famous preacher)
This pilot shut himself up in his garage and spent 2 weeks memorizing the preaching of a man he admired and he emerged a preacher. He attracted huge number of people with his singing (which was very good) and with his memorized preaching. He became very famous. But I could tell this man did not have the Spirit of God though he went through all the motions.
This man was a "mocker" ... imitator ... (Jude)
And many were deceived by him.
This is what Jesus is saying is a "sign" of the end times.
Many will come saying Jesus is Lord and they will deceive many ... These "mockers" (imitators) put themselves into the ministry or the congregation but they "separate" themselves without being separated by God as we are warned in Jude.
This is a sign of the end time.
Jesus warned us about this in Mt. 24 ...
3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Weather
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Last night, a woman from bridge center came to my house to see a DVD. At one point she began telling me how hot is has been and she said, "No telling what it will be in summer" ... I didn't reply ...
But I did hear this from Holy Spirit ...
22While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Gen. 8
Not a big deal about abnormal heat ... Holy Spirit says, "Don't let such trouble you."
But the following will be worth recognition and is a big deal ...
29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: Mt. 24

Desire to read Bible
Pam Padgett ... teacher
On the blog this week was an exhortation to examine what we do and believe by asking “Where is that in the Bible?” This very question is one which God used strongly in my life a few years after I was born again, and has continued to use throughout my life.
At first I would reply that it must be in the Bible, because this is what I had been taught. She never argued, just encouraged me to find this in the Bible.
It was shocking and unsettling at first to realize that I had been taught things that were not based on the Bible. Although I had been taught all my life that the Catholic church was the one true church, I was able to leave it as God worked with me to base what I believe on what He has told us in the Bible.
Many times when hearing something that sounds religious, the simple question “Where is that in the Bible?” has been brought to my mind, reminding me to prove what has been said.
On the blog this week was an exhortation to examine what we do and believe by asking “Where is that in the Bible?” This very question is one which God used strongly in my life a few years after I was born again, and has continued to use throughout my life.
I was raised in the Catholic church which teaches that people should not read the Bible. But when I was first born again, I had a strong desire to read the Bible. One of my sisters had been given a pocket-size New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs which had been put in a drawer and forgotten. When I found this, I secretly read it late at night because I didn’t think my parents would understand.
Then when I went to college a few years later, I met a young woman who told me she was a born-again Christian. This woman read the Bible and even gave me a full-size Bible. As we talked, I would sometimes say something I had been taught by the Catholic church, and she would ask “Where is that in the Bible?”
At first I would reply that it must be in the Bible, because this is what I had been taught. She never argued, just encouraged me to find this in the Bible.
When I wasn’t able to find these doctrines in the Bible, I checked other sources (even checking with a nun at one point) to see if maybe I was just overlooking them in the Bible. These doctrines just weren’t there. While doing this, I also started noticing scriptures that were opposite to what I saw going on in the Catholic church. I started keeping a list of these things.
Through this process, God sorted out for me what I was to believe, what was true.
It was shocking and unsettling at first to realize that I had been taught things that were not based on the Bible. Although I had been taught all my life that the Catholic church was the one true church, I was able to leave it as God worked with me to base what I believe on what He has told us in the Bible.
This is a firm foundation. What we believe and do needs to be based on what God has said.
Many times when hearing something that sounds religious, the simple question “Where is that in the Bible?” has been brought to my mind, reminding me to prove what has been said.

Fearfully and wonderfully made
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
David said ... I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psa. 139:14
Paul explained the church in a way similar to the human body. If one part of the human body does not function it hurts the whole body. And if one part of the church functions incorrectly or does not function it hurts the whole church.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14For the body is not one member, but many. 15If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20But now are they many members, yet but one body. 21And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. I Cor. 12
And Paul explained that when we gather as the church "every one of you" hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. I Cor. 14
In the church (which is us right now as you are reading this), we share by the Spirit of God ... We share that which God has done in our lives. We share that which God has spoken directly to us by His Spirit.
You are invited to share with us that which God has spoken to you.
We do not want to read of that which you are doing "for God".
Rather we want to hear that which God is doing and that which God has told you by His Spirit.
So if you have that, we would love hearing from you.
Recently a man who identified himself as "pastor" said "his" vision for his country was such and such. I quit reading immediately. I'm not interested in the pastor's vision. All I could think of is "what is God's vision".
So if you believe the Spirit of God has shared something with you ... a revelation about a scripture ... a dream ... a concept, we would love hearing that.
(Please don't worry if your English is less than perfect. Send us the message. I can probably adjust it if needed.)

Doctors can scare you to death
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Doctors can scare you to death.
I have an eye disease. Glaucoma... My grandfather went blind with this disease so all my life my mother warned me to have tests.
About 4 years ago, I began treatments (2 eye drops a day).
I went for my 6 month check up this month. The doctor is from India and I have a little difficulty understanding his speech, though he really doesn't say much. (I think him to be a good doctor.)
When I went in a couple of weeks ago, he told me the pressure was good ... then he said, "The pressure is excellent ... " (I was very happy) ... Then he added, "But what worries me is the loss of vision."
I was shocked!
I asked him what we were to do about it. He replied we would just watch it, and said, "Glaumona is tricky." (told me to return in 5 months)
I was terrified and began immediately crying out to God and continued crying out to God. (Pray without ceasing to pray ...I Thess 5:17)
I didn't hear anything that I know of from God. I was reminded of a dream where there was smoke on the other side of the door where I was and it was trying to get into the room but I didn't open the door. I also kept thinking of how I have never been afraid of vision loss.
During the exam, I told the doctor I had been using the computer a lot. (He shrugged it off like it didn't matter.) I showed him the Kindle e-reader and asked if it was okay to use it. He said, "Yes." None of these things were affecting my vision yet I could tell I was having vision loss, especially when I drove car.
It is on my chart that I take Ambiem CR as needed ... I told nurse I take it every night now and I guess she changed it on chart but in case doctor didn't know this I wrote and asked him if the Ambiem was affecting the glaucoma. I asked him to have his nurse call and tell me if I should stop taking it. The doctor called me. He seemed surprised that I was concerned about my vision. He said the Ambiem would not affect the vision at all. He asked me if I was getting new lenses in my glasses and I told him the new lenses should be in this week.
Yesterday I got the lenses and was amazed at how much better I could see. But for several days between the exam and the arrival of the new lenses, I really had to fight destructive, fearful thoughts and hold fast to God.

Every joint supplies to body of Christ
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Paul said, "every joint" supplies to the body of Christ ...
When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. Eph. 4
Certainly apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers share with the church, but members of the body of Christ are also free to share that which the Spirit of God has given them. And we encourage you to do that. If you have something the Spirit of God has given you, you are invited to share it with us.
Here is an example of something from the Spirit of God ...
This came from John Rodgers ... Member of body of Christ
I was thinking about putting another shed up in my backyard. And the thought came to me “ Why don’t you just get rid of the stuff you have?”
Wisdom directly from God by HIS Spirit. When we hear this, don't we marvel at the wisdom of God? We don't marvel at John's wisdom in this story. We marvel at God. We see God in this story.
These are the things upon which the church is built ... the revealed word from the Spirit of God.
This is what each of us need to hear. Not only does it show the way for John to go in the matter at hand but it causes us to marvel at God watching over us and caring for us and communicating directly to each of us by HIS Spirit. It builds faith in God.
---------------
Example of things from flesh of man which will not help the church at all are pastors telling us the number of churches they have or number of radio broadcasts they have. These are their own fleshly works and these things magnify themselves and not God.
I think the following example magnifies God because it shows Him doing something. This happened to me in approximately 1979 ... I was asleep and it was if a loud trumpet blew in my ear and I heard 3 words ... Hartford, Seattle, KWJS ... I talked to God and sorted through it in prayer and within a week I was on radio KWJS 5 days weekly for 30 min. per day. I didn't put myself on radio. God did. But so many ministers tell how they managed something and God is never mentioned at all. They look big and great in the eyes of man. But in this story, don't we see God?
So if you have heard from God by HIS Spirit we would be happy to hear your story. This is open to all in the church, not just to ministers.

(Please don't worry if your English is less than perfect. Send us the message. I can probably adjust it if needed.)
Exhortations hold back deceit
Pam Padgett ... teacher
Recently while reading Psalm 12, the following verses stood out to me …
Psalm 12: 1 Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
Psalm 12: 6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
I recalled the instruction we have from God to exhort one another daily so we won’t be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Hebrews 3: 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Exhort: to urge earnestly by advice, warning, etc. to do what is proper or required; admonish strongly
It is by the word from God, brought forth by the Holy Spirit, that we exhort one another. These exhortations are one way God “preserves” those who sincerely consider these words and conform their lives to these words. Even as we live in the midst of those who follow after things of this world, we are kept from going in the ways of this world and urged to continue in the ways of God … “preserved” from our generation.
Preserve:
-To keep from harm, injury, danger, evil
-To protect; save
-To keep from spoiling or rotting
In exhorting one another daily, we’re urged to deal in truth, integrity and charity, rather than doing whatever it takes to “get ahead” in this world. We’re warned against trusting in ourselves but to, rather, trust in God for all of our needs. We’re encouraged to turn to God with all of our cares, and continue in the word we believe God has given us. We’re warned about tricks of the devil. We’re reminded of the promises of God and of how temporary this world is. And we’re strengthened and encouraged as we share with each other how God has helped and kept us in the various matters we face.
Titus 2: 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Exhorting even more as Day of Lord approaches
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Heb. 3
exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Heb. 10
Do we see the day approaching?
Paul said in the end, things would get much worse ... Paul even called them "perilous"... II Tim. 3
The peril is not as most would expect ... The peril is not like WWII ... The peril is a peace that causes people to relax. You do not relax in danger. But when everything seems fine, we humans tend to let up and relax.
In Daniel we read that one king will destroy wonderfully "with peace" ...
23And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: Dan. 8
"When the transgressors are come to the full ..."
This is the peril spoken of by Paul ... and the "transgressors" are in the churches themselves.
Paul explains: 1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth... II Tim. 3
In these days, they will have "a form of godliness"... but in reality they are lovers of their own selves ...
And they are always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth ... verse 7
They run from meeting to meeting ... but they never really come to the knowledge of the truth ...
This also is spoken of in the prophecy given Daniel ...many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Dan. 12
But even increased knowledge can be deceptive because knowledge without wisdom is deceptive and destruction ... You can know something but unless you have the wisdom from God on using that knowledge it can be evil.
the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Dan. 12
And concerning the last days, Paul explains ... 13But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. II Tim. 3
And we are told in Heb. 3 & Heb. 10 to exhort one another daily ...lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Those who deceive
Pam Padgett ... teacher
As I read 2 Thess. 2:10, I recalled something I’d like to share.
2 Thess. 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
Deceive:
-Cause to believe what is not true
-Give mistaken impression
Satan tries to give a mistaken impression about unrighteousness, possibly making it look “good” or of no consequence (“not a big deal”).
When I was in college I worked in what was called a juvenile delinquency prevention program. One of the young men who came to this program once told me something that showed he was involved in Satan worship. I asked if he wasn’t afraid of going to hell. His response was that he wasn’t afraid of hell because Satan had promised to bring him cool water whenever he wanted. Out of my mouth came “But he is a liar”.
At that time I hadn’t thought much about Satan and didn’t know that in the Bible we’re told this, so was surprised when I heard these words come out of my mouth. Later I read John 8:44 and realized what came out of my mouth was the truth …
John 8: 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
The way this young man was going is so obviously wrong to us. But the devil tries to deceive us with lies as well, lies that aren’t so obvious to us … lies which, if we believe them, will cause us to believe what is not true and go in a way of unrighteousness … instead of in the way of truth and light.
Going in the way of truth is unpleasant to our flesh if it costs us in some way. And truth from God shows us our sin, which we don’t want to see. The devil may tell us that we don’t really need to do what is unpleasant to our flesh, or that we didn’t really sin. But when we look deeply into the truth, and take appropriate action based on the truth, we are able to move forward in the way of righteousness, rather than being deceived by lies of the devil.

Prove all things
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Where is that in the Bible?
Everything we do should be measured by this? Where is that in the Bible?
11 These (in Berea) were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. 12Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few. Acts 17
Recently a pastor asked us to be a "mentor church" to his group. I replied that I do not know what a "mentor church " is since that is not in the Bible.
In the United States there is a holiday set by humans and it is called "Memorial Day". People go to graveyards and decorate graves. After I because a Christian I asked "Why" do Christians do that? Where in the Bible does it tell us to go and decorate graves? I didn't do that.
Paul said ... 21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22Abstain from all appearance of evil. I Thess. 5
In response to the pastor who asked us to be a "mentor church", I said: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers are given to the church to work in the church. We do not work in just a single church group but wherever the church is we work in that office to which we are called by God ... so that the church might grow in things of God. (Eph. 4)
But there is no such thing in the Bible as "mentor church." So each of us correct ourselves when we come across something that is not in the Bible and we turn from that knowing we have likely set up some thinking that is a plan of man and not of God.
Each of us are continually reborn by the Word of God. It is not a one time experience. As long as we live on this earth, we are reborn over and over, being conformed yet again by the Word of God as we read the Bible and set aside that which is not in the Bible and go in the way the Bible as the Spirit of God instructs. Each time we do this, we are recreated in the image of God by the conformity to the Word of God.
23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. I Peter 1
21Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. God sending you
Renee Bonfield ... evangelist
Several years ago A woman Gertrude Brown (a Jewish lady) lived in our apartment house.
She had severe dementia and I was aware that her husband and her sister had died. They lived with her. I was a fairly new Christian at the time, and at the time we had a car. We picked up our son James from his special Saturday program. I sat in the back with him. As I leaned my head back a little, the Holy Spirit put it in my heart to visit her. I had never done anything like this before, and was asking God to help me and advise me what to say. The next Monday morning I went to her apartment. A home attendant was taking care of her. This day Gertrude's mind was as clear as a bell. When she saw me she said "Where have you been, where have you been? I've been calling for you but didn't know how to reach you." I replied "God heard you calling me, and sent me to visit you." I then began to tell her about Jesus. That He is our Messiah. I asked her if she wanted to pray with me and ask Jesus to come into her life and save her. With that she opened up her big blue eyes and said "yes, yes." We prayed. After that I asked her aid what I could bring her when I visited her again. I was told that she likes ice cream, so the next day I bought vanilla ice cream and brought it
to her, but this time her mind was completely gone. A short while after that she died.

Entering into HIS rest
Pam Padgett ... teacher
Hebrews 4: 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
While considering that we are to rest from our own works as God did from His, I recalled the following …
Acts 15:18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
Hebrews 4: 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
The works of God were laid out and finished from the foundation of the world. We simply need to walk in the way God has for us, the way He leads us. But this takes faith in God. Faith that God has planned out the way before us, knowing everything we will face and is able to keep us. Faith that God is able to lead us in that way. Faith that God will provide everything we need and will protect us.
We have been given the example of some of the children of Israel in the wilderness. Because of their unbelief, they were not able to enter into the rest God had for them.
Hebrews 3: 16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Psalm 78: 22 Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:
It can seem so clear to us that they should have believed God and trusted Him to provide everything they needed in the wilderness. But we face the same temptations as we deal with the various things we face as we walk on this earth. We’re warned …
Hebrews 4: 1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
In the Bible we have read many things God has done, and we’ve experienced in our own lives ways God has led, protected, and provided for us. But, much as the children of Israel in the wilderness, fears, our flesh trying to exalt itself, and thoughts from the devil can tempt us to enter into a way of our own work … trying to work things out with our minds, trying to provide for ourselves, trusting in our own abilities, following what someone else has done … rather than turning strongly to God with our situation, waiting for His provision and guidance, trusting Him to lead us in the way He has for us, and going that way.
Hebrews 4: 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
