* Memories that trouble you. Try the Spirit to see if it is from God.

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet of Jesus Christ according to Ephesians 4:11-12.

I John 4

1  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I was reminded of a woman who had troubled me greatly with her church doctrine.  I addressed the spirit that brought her to my mind saying, "Do you confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh?"

Then I knew it was "that evil spirit" who brought this woman to mind.  And that spirit disappeared and I no longer had any thoughts concerning this woman to trouble me.

Evil spirits want to trouble us and to get us to contact troublesome people and to entangle us again with those people.

This temptation is especially strong when we think we might help them.

But if the evil spirit was the one bringing the person to our mind, it will be for the purpose of doing  harm.

John 10:10  Jesus says:  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

So if the thought was from an evil spirit who is trying to get you to think on that person, it will be for the purpose of stealing, killing, and destroying.

When you try that spirit by saying, "Do you confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh?",  that spirit might bring a "No" to your mind, or that spirit might say nothing, meaning that spirit did not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.  Either way you will know the spirit behind that thought.

And I find the matter just disappears from my memory.

It is very important for us to learn not to yield to evil spirits who bring thoughts to our minds as they try to motivate us to do something.

Follow the Spirit of God and resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Here is a scripture God has been working with me on so I can learn to do these instructions.

Titus 3:9-11

9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

God shows me don't keep trying to teach them when they have rejected scripture once or twice.

Don't put yourself in a position whereby you are "entangled" in their troubles when they will not pray and settle matters with God.

Just leave that person alone ... no "how are you doing" phone calls ... no birthday cards to stir up a relationship with them again ... no Christmas cards ... just walk away and avoid them.

If they try to contact you, then pray, asking God what you should do.

Report from Pam Padgett, member of the body of Christ:

I sometimes have thoughts of wanting to help my sisters, that perhaps there is something I could say or do that would help them.

This morning, I again asked God to please show me if there is anything I can say or do to help them. I was not shown to say or do anything where they are concerned.

Both of my sisters have rejected scripture I have shared with them in the past.
