* The name of God, THE WORD, must be honored.

Malachi 1

11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same MY name (THE WORD) shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name (THE WORD) shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.

12 But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even His meat, is contemptible.

But many consider The Word set before them by God to be contemptible and they explain it away, removing The Word from the Table of the Lord.

Malachi 1:13

13 Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it!

They hate that Word from God that is set before them.

Malachi 2

2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto MY name (The Word), saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

Some count the Word from God lightly.

I Corinthians 11

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep (die).

31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

Many eat the word of God unworthily.  They read the Bible but fail to examine themselves and make appropriate changes to their own lives by the Bible.  They fail to judge themselves by the Bible.

Malachi 2

5 My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared ME, and was afraid before MY name (doing the Word).

6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.
