Misunderstanding what it means to be baptised in the Holy Ghost

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Many church people read Acts 1 and think being baptized in the Holy Ghost means speaking in tongues.  But the Holy Spirit is given to each believer to live inside that believer so having the Holy Ghost in you is having Jesus in you and when you have that you have the power of God in you which enables you to do the will of God and the work ordained by God for you as you live on this earth.

Acts 1:4-5    And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of Me.   For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

When the Holy Spirit reminds you of a scripture and you speak that scripture there is a power of God with that speech.

But if we speak a scripture without the Holy Ghost calling it to our attention it falls dead and lifeless though it is a scripture.

It is the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, Who enables us to witness with power as we live on this earth.

Romans 8:14    For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Few in church groups understand what it is the Holy Spirit does.

- He teaches us all things.
- He reminds us of all Jesus has said.
- He guides us into all truth.
- He shows us things to come.

Jesus explains the work of the Holy Spirit as follows:

John 14:26    But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13    Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.

You can hear someone speak a scripture and you can later speak that scripture like a parrot and avail nothing at all and even end up puffing yourself up.

But when it is the Spirit of God leading you to speak a scripture, you end up glorifying God.

For you then know you didn't remember that scripture of your own self, of your own intellect, your wisdom.  You know it is the Holy Spirit reminding you of that scripture so how can you take pride in yourself, thus you glorify God, not yourself.

Only by the Spirit of God are we able to witness to the work of God and the Word of God.

If you are of God, you have HIS Spirit in you, although you may not know it.

Ephesians 1:13-14    In Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.
