As Jesus was taken up into heaven, so shall it be with us

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Acts 1:10-11   And when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He (Jesus) was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;  Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.

Jesus returns for the church:

I Thessalonians 4:13-18    But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep (dead).

For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Jesus returns through the air but HE does not come to this earth.  He is in the air and the dead rise to meet Him in the air

Then the living are changed "in a twinkling of the eye" (I Corinthians 15) leaving these present bodies behind and taking on the new "body" given by God and they rise in the air to meet Jesus and those who have gone before.

The kingdom of God is not on this present earth.

In the day of the Lord, this present earth will be destroyed along with the present heaven.

There will be a new heaven and new earth, a new Jerusalem, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

II Peter 3:10-14    But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

We should not be striving over this present earth and the things that are in this present earth for all things pertaining to this present earth will be destroyed by God.

Revelation 21:1-5   And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

As flesh & blood humans we are subject to pains of this flesh.

But we will not have these fleshly bodies in heaven.  We will be as the angels, not subject to the present pains and sorrows of the flesh for we will not have this present flesh with which to contend.

There will be no works of the flesh for there will no longer be any flesh.

And Jesus explains there will be no marriage of humans in heaven as we know marriage on this earth.

Matthew 22:23-30    The same day came to Him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked Him,  Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.  Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:  Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.  And last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

I am amazed at how few church people know these concepts.

They act as if heaven is some form of extension of this present life.

They say such things as, "I know I will see her in heaven," not considering scripture which tells us we will not even have the former things brought to mind.

They fail to understand we will no longer have these human forms, so even if you could remember her, how will you recognize her since we no longer have these humans bodies?

They even act as if they will join the human mate and set up housekeeping in heaven.

They fail to consider what the scriptures tell us about life in the new heaven and the new earth wherein dwelleth only righteousness, where there is no flesh, no death, no pain, no sorrow of the flesh.  The flesh is gone forever before heaven occurs.

*****

I am also amazed at the extensive mourning humans go about over death.  They do not understand how to handle death.  So they carry on and make up all types of "memorials"  and elaborate funerals to honor a dead person who is asleep and doesn't know what it happening anyway.

The apostle Paul says,  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  I Thessalonians 4

Think about what you are doing and conform your thinking to Bible.
