John 1:29...Jesus takes away sin of the world...from us who belong to Him
The world still has sin...but that sin is taken away from us by Jesus
When we are born again, aren't we changed?
We no longer want to go around with the worldly people we once desired. We no longer want to do those things we once did. This is Jesus taking that sin of the world away from us. That is what being born again is all about. We once served sin, delighted in sin. Now We are free to serve God and we abhor the sin we once loved.
The thing that makes our God so different from other gods is our God created the heavens and the earth and that creator has the power to recreate us without our actually doing anything.
This is the new covenant:
Heb. 10 ... 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
It is not that we learn HIS laws. God puts HIS laws directly into our hearts and into our minds.
We are changed by the power of God.
