Glorifying self

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Humans glorify self by many ways:  appearance and apparel ... various achievements in school, in sports, in serving community ...

Jesus shows in following scripture how HE glorified God and glorified HIMSELF ...

Jn. 12 ... 23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone:but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be:if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour:but for this cause came I unto this hour.

28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

When the time came, Jesus laid down HIS own life and by this Jesus glorified God and HIMSELF.

Humans do things to bring praise from other humans to themselves.  By this they glorify themselves.

But Jesus followed God and suffered the rebuke of humans against HIMSELF and against God and therefore brought glory to God and to HIMSELF through the reproach of other humans.

We see the same from John the Baptist ... John said to Herod it was not right for him to take his brother's wife as his wife.  This brought no praise from men to John the Baptist.  Instead John was imprisoned and slain, his head being cut off.  This brings glory to God and also glory in the sight of God to John the Baptist.

When we speak the word of God and lay down our lives and our reputations in our own households, we glorify God and this brings glory to us also in the rebuke of humans.

Paul was capturing Christians and taking them bound for judgment of the leaders of the Jews.  Paul received much praise from men for his acts against the Christians as he persecuted "Jesus".

But as soon as God revealed HIMSELF to Paul and Paul began to preach Jesus, he laid down his own life and reputation among men who had once praised him.

God said this of Paul:   I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. Acts 9:16

Jesus did works that no man has seen done before.  Jesus healed the blind and they could now see.  Jesus raised the dead.  Jesus caused the deaf to hear.  These are works which should have brought Jesus great praise from all humans.

Instead the Jewish rulers were envious and sought ways to kill Jesus.  Many humans did not believe in Jesus even though they saw these wonderful works HE did.

The servant is not greater than his master ... If they did this to Jesus, they will do the same to us ...

It is often shocking to us when we speak Bible and have them persecute us in churches because we spoke Bible.  "But we did good and they hated us."  It seems they should love us instead.

If they persecuted Jesus for the good works HE did ... they will also persecute and despise us when we do the works of God ... And most shocking of all is the ones who will hate us for doing the works of God are often ones who attend church and call themselves Christians.

However this should not shock us for who persecuted Jesus ... It was the nation of Israel who persecuted Jesus, the chosen people of God ...

So it makes sense that the rejection we would suffer would come from those inside the churches.

Neverthless, we glorify God when we speak truths from God ... and we lay down our lives also when we do such.

Jn. 13 ... And when he (Jesus) had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him. 29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
30 He then having received the sop went immediately out:and it was night.

31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.

Glory was going to come through persecution, abuse, indignities, suffering ...

This is exactly opposite from what humans think as they try to glorify themselves in the sight of other humans.  Humans exalt themselves in the sight of other humans as they do "good" things.

Glory from God is attached to laying down your life and your reputation in your own households and having your own children hate and despise what you have chosen to do.

In God's way, there is a suffering attached to glory.

Phil. 3 ... Paul explains:

3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. 4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10 That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death;

The leaders of Judah came to Jeremiah the prophet to see what was going to happen as they were threatened by the Babylonians.

Jeremiah was not a false prophet.  Jeremiah was a real prophet of God, speaking truth from God.

False prophets often tell evil doers that everything will be fine and nothing "bad" will happen to them in their evil doings.

Jeremiah was speaking these words to "the chosen people of God" ...

Jeremiah 21 ...  1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying, 2 Enquire, I pray thee, of the Lord for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the Lord will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he (Nebuchadrezzar) may go up from us.

(They were the chosen people of God ... many times God had risen up against enemies for them ... )

3 Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah:

4 Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city. 5 And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.

6 And I will smite the inhabitants of this city (Jerusalem), both man and beast:they shall die of a great pestilence.

(But this was the city chosen by God whereby HE would put HIS name ... now is God going to destroy Jerusalem? ... How can this be? ... but the rulers of Judah were evil, worshiping other gods and the people loved it ....)

7 And afterward, saith the Lord, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life:and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

8 And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death. 9 He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence:
but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.

(God tells the people to surrender themselves to the Chaldeans ...Jerusalem will not be saved but destroyed ... )

10 For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the Lord:  it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

(The people of Judah did much evil, worshiping various idols and turning away from God.  We see the same thing today in the many churches where they cast aside scripture and approve adultery in the congregation and many other sins against scripture, eliminating the true word of God in the church.)

11 And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the Lord; 12 O house of David, thus saith the Lord; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

13 Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, saith the Lord; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations? 14 But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the Lord:and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.

The vast majority of churches today approve adultery, removing the scriptures against adultery.  These churches and their leaders call themselves Christians.  But they cast aside the scriptures in order to approve sin in the congregation.  And they do all manner of evil in the name of Jesus.  And they glory in themselves and in other evil doers in other churches.

Are you sitting among them?

If so, you will enter into their judgment with them.

They will not turn.  They will not repent.

All these things pile up before God until their cup is full and this brings about the wrath of God in judgment.

It is not the evil of the world that brings the wrath of God.  The world has been evil from the beginning of time.

It is the evil in the churches who call themselves by the name of Jesus which brings the wrath of God.  And when the evil is full, it will come.

II Thess. 2 ... 3 Let no man deceive you by any means:for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first (churches would fall away from scripture), and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work:only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

That judgment of God is coming to the churches because they cast aside scripture to go in their own ways... they and their followers will die ...

They will not repent.

Surely you do not deceive yourselves into thinking the Catholic pope will pull off his robes and repent in sackcloth and ashes?  nor will Kenneth Copeland and his type repent from their personal glory and high positions in churches ... nor will the many congregations who worship these men repent ... and many other churches, Baptists, Church of Christ, Assembly of God and others who follow these churches and establish churches after the pattern they see done by previous evil doers will be judged by God, for they fail to humble themselves to do scripture.

They will all go down together.
