Mk. 13 ... 1 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! 2 And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Jesus was showing his disciples the futility of admiring great buildings and great works of man for all these things will be destroyed and will be as nothing.
Fretting over those properties we "own" and fretting over that which we can see with our natural eyes is unwise.
II Peter 3 ... 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
The one thing that will endure forever is the word of the Lord. Pay attention to that!
