Worldly people are often different in private, committing various sins against God by violating the doctrines of Christ as set forth in the Bible.
Therefore if we wish a person well, and that person in private commits a sin against God, we will lose reward in heaven by partaking in his evil deeds by wishing him well by approving him.
The apostle John says:
2 John vv. 8-11
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

I would never wish anyone well unless I had evidence that person heard from the Spirit of God and followed the Holy Spirit in his/her life.
What the Bible says:
1 Timothy 2
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
If you support one political party and the opposition wins, would you be able to pray for the one who won as the Bible says to do?
If you vote for a person you are wishing that person "well". If that person does evil, you are in danger of losing reward in heaven according to 2 John vv. 8-11.
If you say to a person, "Have a good day." and that person does evil, you are danger of partaking of his evil deeds according to 2 John vv. 8-11.
I am not registered with a political party, but I do pray for the ruler when I see a danger, asking God to not let "that" happen as he rules.
With President Trump, I prayed that God not allow him to fire a nuclear weapon getting us into war with another nation.
With President Biden, I prayed that God not allow him to draw us into a war with Russia.
But I did not vote for either man.
