The apostle John shows us antichrist comes through the church.
1 John 2:18-19 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
John also shows us antichrist is a "spirit" ... the spirit of antichrist ... that operates in many men just as the devil is not "one man" but a spirit in many men.
I John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

The apostasy in the churches in the last days before Jesus returns.
2 Thessalonians 2
(KJV)
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
(In 1982, God said to me: "The falling away are not people leaving the churches. The falling away are the churches leaving the scriptures.")
(NASB)
6-7 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.
(He who restrains antichrist is Jesus, the Word. When churches remove portions of the Word, the restraint is removed and antichrist moves into that church group.)
For example:
Matthew 5:32 (Jesus says) But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
* The man who divorces "a faithful wife" causes her to commit adultery if she remarries.
* The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery
If the church approves a divorced woman in remarriage, that church group becomes a part of the apostasy, departing from the doctrine of Christ on this issue.
I Corinthians 7:10-11 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
Romans 7:2-3 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
* The only scriptural reason that a man can divorce his wife is if she commits adultery.
When I heard that a man in our church group had filed papers in a court of law divorcing his wife, I called him immediately and asked him: "Was your wife unfaithful to you?" He replied, "No." Then I told him the only scriptural reason for a man to divorce his wife was if she was committing adultery against him. I referred him to Matthew 5:32. He apparently read this scripture for he withdrew the divorce proceedings from the US Courts.
* If a man marries a divorced woman, he commits adultery. (Matt. 5:32)
* If a woman leaves her husband, she must remain "unmarried" or be reconciled with her husband.
(I Cor. 7:10-11)
* If a woman remarries after divorce, she commits adultery. (Matt. 5:32; I Cor. 7:10-11; Mark 10:12)
If a church group violates these scriptures, that church group removes the restraint that holds antichrist back from the church group and antichrist comes into that group with the removal of scripture and the apostasy takes place in that church group. (II Thessalonians 2:2-3;6-7 NASB)

When Jesus returns to resurrect the dead in Christ and to remove the elect of God from this earth, then Jesus will destroy the apostate church groups.
2 Thessalonians 2 (KJV)
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Acts 20 (Paul speaking to the elders of the church at Ephesus)
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
(Antichrist was already sitting among the elders in the church at Ephesus and they would take over as soon as Paul was gone.)
