* Some churches today are teaching there is no law for the NT church. But look at what Paul says.

In the Old Testament, the people of God went by the "Law of Moses" which was delivered from God for the children of Israel until Jesus paid for the sacrifice of our sins.  


After Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead and taken into heaven, Jesus gave the New Testament church, whereby HIS own blood paid for our sins and we no longer sacrificed animals as in the Law of Moses.


Therefore we do not observe the Law of Moses in the New Testament church today.


But there are still laws of God as is shown in the following New Testament scriptures.


I Corinthians 7:39 
 
The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. 
 
Also Paul says the following is "the commandment of the Lord" for married women. 
 
I Corinthians 7:10-11 
 
And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

After I was born again in 1975, I asked my best friend, a Baptist, what we do now.

She replied, "Nothing."

But as I read the New Testament Bible, I saw many scriptures which showed me things to do as the New Testament church.

By the scriptures, I also saw our names can be blotted out of the Book of Life if we fail to overcome in this life.

Revelation 3:5  Jesus says:  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before HIS angels.

Through the next 40+ years, various scriptures were called to my attention and I set about to do these instruction in my own life.

Also I saw changes that must be made after we are born again.

Jesus said to the woman taken in adultery, "Go, and sin no more."  (John 8:10)

In another section of scripture, Jesus healed a man and then said to that man,  "Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee."  (John 5:14)

Paul told the New Testament church:

I Corinthians 6

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

(Those who live in these sins will not receive the kingdom of God.)

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

After we are born again, we walk in "newness of life", putting aside the past way of "the old man."  Now we serve God, doing the will of God, according to the New Testament Bible.

The way of the natural man is death.  The way of the Spirit of God is life, now and forever.

Each time we follow a scripture, putting aside our previous way of the natural man, we are recreated over and over into the image of God.

Therefore we no longer hate and despise other people as we once did.  We no longer rail out at others, exalting ourselves in our own wisdom.  But we keep our "natural man" under the control of the Spirit of God who now lives in us.

We keep the natural man crucified by the Word of God as we do the scriptures.

We stop following the will of our flesh and we call on God for HIS help when we are tempted by our flesh.  And we recognize the works of the flesh and keep them crucified with Christ as Paul did.

Galatians 5:19-21   Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Now we are servants of God rather than servants of our own will.

So we pray asking God to show us HIS will in the various temptations of this life.

God makes a way of escape for us in each temptation and we go in that way as shown us by God and we follow the Spirit, keeping our flesh crucified with Christ, the Word, by doing the various scriptures shown us by the Spirit of God.

As we continue to live on this earth, waiting for the return of Jesus, Peter tells us what we are to do.

II Peter 2:14  Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

(Living blameless in the sight of God by doing HIS will as is shown us by the scriptures and HIS Holy Spirit.)

So make no mistake.  There are continual things for us to do after we are born again.

We choose to go in the way of the Word of God, keeping our thinking reconstructed by that which God says by the New Testament Bible and by His Spirit.
