God is a "sun" to light our path so we can go in the direction filling HIS purpose for us.
God is a shield, protecting us from ourselves and others.
God gives us grace to do His will.
God glorifies us by that which HE gives us which causes death to self that we would be recreated in HIS image.
Sometimes in life we want something which would not fit in with God's purpose for us and God keeps us from that person or thing.
But when it is good, God will not withhold it from us.
We can know these things about God and fully trust God to do the very best thing for us according to HIS purpose.
