* Taking thoughts captive. Dealing wiith destructive thoughts.

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

It is not unusual for the devil to bring to our mind thoughts which are exactly opposite from those thoughts brought to us by the Holy Spirit.

The devil will torment us and pull us away from the Word from God, if possible.

We have to "fight" for the faith which is delivered to us by the Holy Spirit, showing us those things God has prepared for us.

Here are scriptures and examples:

John 10:10  Jesus says:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The devil will steal the Word from us if we allow him to do so.  The devil brings thoughts to us which are exactly opposite to that Word which God brings us by HIS Spirit.  We have to choose God's Word and cling to that Word even when the circumstances go opposite to that Word.

John 8   Jesus says

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in MY word, then are ye MY disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

But the devil brings to our mind thoughts which are lies and are opposite from the WORD given us by God.

To the children of the devil, Jesus says:

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He (the devil) was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

If we are of God, we resist the word brought by the devil and cling to the word given by God.

James 4

6   God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

(Submit yourselves to God.  In the temptation, turn to God for help.  Meditate on the Word given to  you by God.  Resist the devil with that word given by God.)

8 Draw nigh to God, and HE will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands (by choosing the Word  given you by God), ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Do not allow the thoughts of devil and the desires of your own flesh to over rule the Word from God on the matter at hand.  Pray for help in the time of trouble and cling to the Word from God.

James 1:5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

I Peter 5

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that HE may exalt you in due time:

7 Casting all your care upon Him; for HE careth for you.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

II Corinthians 10

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

(I've seen people try to be strong in their own self-will.  But we are told  to be "mighty through God," thinking on that word given us by God.)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ
(The Word);

Mark 4

14 The sower soweth the word.

15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;  17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

So we must think on that word given us by God, meditate on that Word and allow that Word to become strong enough in us that we are able to do that word.  Each time we do that word we are recreated by that word into the image of Christ who is the Word.

20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

(Hear the word.  Receive the Word.  Do the Word.  Thus bringing forth good fruit by that Word given you by God.)

For example:

Ephesians 4:29   Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Think about that which you are about to say.  Evaluate it.  "Will it bring grace to the hearer if you say that?  Will it cause the hearer to be built in the way of God?"  If so, speak.  If not, do as Job did who put his hand over his mouth to keep from speaking.  Call on God asking God to help you not to say that.

We might have allowed something unclean into our heart through envy or strife.  So we pray:  "Create a clean heart in me, O God.  And renew a right spirit in me."  Psalm 51:10

Joshua 1   God says:

7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

(We don't do the law of Moses, but we do the Word of God given to the New Testament church today by the Spirit of God set forth for us in the New Testament Bible.)

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9 Have not I commanded thee?
(Isn't it God who told me to do this thing?)   Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
