* Josiah

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

II Chronicles 34

1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years.

2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.

***

What is the first thing you would expect that "good king" to do ... that king who does "right in the sight of God?

That is exactly what we should do in our own lives:  break down all the false gods and religious idols.

II Chronicles 34

3 In the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.

4 And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them.

Josiah ordered them to repair the house of God.  The workers discovered a book of the Law of God as they worked on the house of God.

When that book of the Law was read to Josiah, he bowed down to God and rent his clothes.

33 And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, even to serve the Lord their God. And all his days they departed not from following the Lord, the God of their fathers.

***

After Josiah, evil kings arose and people returned to abominations and to idols.

And God brought penalty of 70 years of captivity to His people.

There is a time for judgment of God.

***

New Testament churches today have departed from instructions given by Paul for the gathering of the church and have set up many idols for the people to trust in.

But we have New Testament Bible so each of us can see the abominations which have been set by men before the churches today.

We are all accountable to God.

II Corinthians 6

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
